    Best/Worst rollercoaster Elements

My favourite element is ejector airtime, especially on the Grand National at Pleasure Beach Blackpool. From the first double drop, to the just before the bunny hops. :--D :--D

Is a new wooden coaster for the UK actually a good idea?

Yes!! The Grand National at Pleasure Beach is one of the top wooden racing coasters in the World. The Wild Mouse is absolutely awesome!! Sadly the 'Bobs' at Manchester Belle Vue was dismantled in the 70's (I never rode it) It was a twister, specking to friends it was awesome, almost terrifying...

    Merlin Fastrack

Hate it with a passion!! Oversold and Q's go at a snails pace. Paying a hefty sum to enter the park including rides. Fast track is like 'pay per ride' on top!! Totally unfair.

    Best coaster under 100ft?

Grand National Blackpool. Must have ridden it hundreds of times! Love the ejector airtime! Wild Mouse is a close second. We need more woodies in GB!!

    Merlin Fatigue

The price of petrol is having a real effect on the leisure industry. I bought a pass for Blackpool pleasure beach this year, and can't get enough of the wooden coasters (something that's missing at Merlin parks) The Grand National and Wild mouse are on top form!!

    Roller coasters and health

IMO Roller Coasters are beneficial to your health. They can relieve stress etc which can only be good. Obviously you got to use common sense, if too much or certain rides give you a splitting headache etc etc, that will having a detrimental effect! I don't worry about getting bruises though!!

Compulsory Purchase Order for Dreamland Margate

'Crystal Beach Cyclone, Belle Vue Bobs or Aeroplane Coaster' The Cyclone (trio) must have been the most extreme coaster of all time!! Wish the Bobs was still operating. What a sad and strange ending to one of the UK's best coasters. It was dismantled ready for relocation, but as far as I could...

Pleasure Beach Bans Food In Park

They explained why disabled people could not access the ride at that time. 3 trains were on the track, and any delay could cause real problems. They would have to take a train off which was scheduled for 6pm. (I would'nt fancy being stopped at the mid course brakes.) The odd sandwich, can...

    Big Dipper derailed

A wheel problem sounds a likely cause, possibly the stub axel is still under the track stopping it from lifting further. Wheel failure can't be that uncommon - a ride at Alton Towers lost a wheel February 2010, and was evacuated. Hopefully Dipper is open this weekend, but probably on 1 train.

    Big Dipper derailed

A geezer with a plank of wood and a bag of nails? BPB have a specialist joinery department where the wood for the track is bent, shaped and laminated. There is about six layers laminated together and on top sides and underneath, steel running surfaces. Look at the track closely and you can see...

    Big Dipper derailed

The Big Dipper is a fantastic woodie and has been running on that layout for 70 odd years. There are only 8 operational woodies left in Britain,( including 1 scenic railway at Great Yarmouth), and of which 5 are in Blackpool. I can't see this as an accident but a major breakdown. Hope it will...
