Thanks to years and years of driving to lots of UK gigs and UK theme parks, there's not many I haven't done. And whilst I cannot be bothered to go through the full list, there's a few things which are easy to remember.
Tebay & Gloucester are the best in the UK, hands down.
The newer Extra...
Really sad to hear, this is one of the top 5 most intense coasters I’ve ever done.
Can’t imagine it was cheap to maintain, and parts aren’t gonna be in abundance. But if you were lucky enough to ride it then you’ll know what a bonkers ride it was.
I really like the Skyrockets as well, and I'd pick them over Ice Breaker any day.
Both of them are ruined by the awful trains which need burning and dumping far out at sea. But Ice Breaker felt really clumsy and uncomfortable the whole way around. If it had better trains, I might be swayed.
It gets really hard to pick a top 10, let alone a number 1 when you get into silly numbers. But for the sake of argument I'm gonna use Iron Gwazi (1) at BGT and Wildfire at Kolmarden (2). It also completely depends on so many things - when you rode them, who you rode them with, how warm was it...
Easily my most successful years were 2007 and 2015, both had about 270 new coasters in each.
Last year was my best for a year long time, getting 90 in a single year. Had a very lean period from 2016-2020.
Lightning Rod was such a let down this year. It felt nowhere near as fast or crazy as it used to before the reworking. And it's still just as unreliable!
I like it, but I get the FLY thing because there's not a single flying coaster that is comfortable to ride, as you're completely prone. At...
It's amazing that the Lives have kept going for 20 years and though they may not be that often after this year, hopefully I'll be able to make it one or two in 2023.
Just occurred to me that it’s 20 years since the very first CF Live this year.
I’ve had some terrible ideas, but I’m proud of this one, and everyone who’s carried the torch.
1500. One five zero zero.
And as I’m sure you know a lot of them are wacky worms, so it’s only appropriate that this milestone was another one. But I’m seriously not going out of my way for any more. So consider myself retired from chasing them.
Also nice to see Lizzie’s resting place from a...
Not sure if this deserved its own topic, but being here when this happens is one of my worst nightmares.
