To be honest, I'd have gone for Intamin over B&M, particularly for this style of coaster.
Nothing against Mack and Hyperia as we know it, but imagine a 236ft version of Kondaa across that lake. Lovely.
I imagine that IMAScore were provided the initial POV video as part of the brief. I wouldn't rule out onboard audio, but that would also explain why the music aligns quite nicely.
Idk if they're 'identical' but the two Danish Rutschebanens offer vastly different experiences.
The one in Bakken is genuinely slower than my nan going upstairs.
Surely Hyperia is the correct answer here.
Sure, there are aspects of the project I could easily critique, but this is still the most significant coaster investment in the UK for a long, long time.
Other than that, I'm excited for Nemesis to reopen with a new lease of life.
Challenge of Tutankhamun & Fata Morgana are 2 of my fave dark rides in Europe and they're rarely mentioned. Perhaps the lack of recognition makes them better, particularly for first time riders who have no expectations.
A difficult choice. I suppose it mainly just comes down to personal preference, but it's hard to argue between any of the first 3 RCT games or Planet Coaster.
It would be cool, from a marketing perspective, if they left the crest of the lift hill as the last piece of track to be placed.
The official crowning of the UK's tallest, after all these years.
I'll be livestreaming Mandy's Twitter feed the night before the official opening, watching the...
Sadly I have to agree with Howie, which is a shame because they're my local woodies.
Grand National, in theory, would be the best if it wasn't so rough and uncomfortable. Rather than an in-house refurb, that thing needs some GCI intervention and fast.
Phantasialand has actually provided with me with one of the best theme park meals I've had - thanks for the reminder above.
It was at the Restaurant Bantu (Hotel Matamba), me and my 2 friends were the only ones in there for our dinner - a la carte - whilst everyone else seemed to be at the...
Lovely start to a promising report. I look forward to Part 2!
Howie can definitely vouch for the loose articles thingy on The Ride™... and most definitely in Wally Holland 😉
I still wonder where those car keys ended up
Food glorious food.
Perhaps one of the more overlooked aspects of the theme park experience.
Maybe this is because the average park need not worry about providing a high quality level of food and refreshments; merely a quick, easy bite for customers who are ultimately looking to maximise...
In terms of Europe, there's a spike in April around Easter, particularly if weather is on side... but really it kicks into gear in May with the bank holidays.
I suppose at the moment it is fairly difficult to say.
Certainly, coming off the back of 2022, I'd expect to see a drop in numbers as the country gradually relaxed and then eventually removed Covid restrictions. Add the cost of living crisis and poor weather (up here in the north west at least)...
Ok so off the top of my head, some of my favourite first drops include:
- Shambhala (straight)
- El Toro (straight)
- Nitro (straight)
- Expedition GeForce (twist)
- Kondaa (twist)
- Balder (eh, it's sorta twisted but kicks into a straight drop)
So, I guess it depends on the ride and it's...
I'd legit take Thunderlooper in a tube (Psyke Underground style) over a lot of the current suggestions.
Genuinely, if they tarted up an old Schwarzkopf and chucked it in a big old warehouse, then would the GP really know any better? If it thrills, it thrills.
