I don't see any reason why they couldn't link 9 of them together. The only cars that I don't think could be linked together in a train that long are the B&M dive trains, but that's because of how heavy the train would be.
I hope this is successful, because then there will be more Mack coasters...
I somehow found myself on Intamin's website and was surprised to see that they listed both the aqua trax and the water coaster. I can't tell how they differ. What am I missing?
How much money can I spend?
B&M 400ft Hyper like I described in that perfect coaster thread, and I make them do EJECTOR air!
A few prefab and RMC woodies, maybe new-style GCI or GG, though I haven't ridden the new stuff and can't speak to smoothness
B&M invert with unusual elements (maybe an...
I found it and don't see why it's so disliked. He sets the cutoff at 160 degrees. I disagree with this. Is it some kind of industry standard? 135 makes sense to me.
Anyone think that Pandora would be a good name for a coaster? I've never heard of it being done, not even in NoLimits.
That might be an inversion. Would that make this the longest inverting coaster? What's the roll threshold for inversion? 135 degrees?
I'm super excited for this. It might end up being the best hyper.
As cool as that would look, part of what will make this great is dashing through the terrain in the dark.
As much as they're correct about how a rod rod looked, is anyone else totally not thinking of a high performance car when they see that front? When I think of a car with great...
Wildfire and Lightning Rod look awesome, and I'm interested in how Lost Gravity turns out. Mako also looks like it could wind up being B&Ms best hyper.
New rides for me that I should get this year:
Lightning Rod (and the rest of Dollywood)
Fury 325, Intimidator, Afterburn (and the rest of...
The sky makes it seem kind of artsy.
In other words, I want to see it from this angle when the whole ride is built and there isn't construction equipment or leafless trees, and it should be overcast.
The track coming out of the photo is cool, too. That could be used in promotional material...
Something did seem odd about that ride when I was there, but I thought it was pretty fun.
I'll go with Skyrush. The entrance end exit are on the same side without having multiple stations. More importantly, though, the negative Gs light up red and give an "extreme" rating, agreed?
(Can you...
I can't see it well with trees in the way. Maybe once all of the track is there.
"Drawn out" might not be what I mean, at least not in the standard sense. I suppose that would usually mean in the horizontal direction. I mean vertically. Main drops seems to have the pullout take up less than...
That seems like a minor expense compared to the rest of a major coaster. If it were a big deal, then I wouldn't expect multiple hypers to use that arrangement.
Go 538 on us!
(Nate Silver predicted a bunch of US elections a few years ago. He runs a website called 538 that goes into the statistics behind a lot of life, ranging from figuring out how many people have ever died to why the Packers should have gone for 2 against the Cardinals.)
It's so much bigger than Kraken from one angle that it's hard to believe.
It's like a dog and a cat or a parent with a young child.
I'm really excited for this one. The colors and the shape look gorgeous, almost like this could make a run at being B&M's best hyper.
It's not a second long like I posted, but if Lofty is right and the straight section is 10-12 meters, then you're at regular gravity for about a third of a second (and that seems reasonable from the POV). With an elevated pulse, there's a good chance of getting a beat in that time as you're...
I had to go look at the POV. I had never noticed it, but it's definitely there on Intimidator.
The one on Mako's animated POV is easy to notice, though. They did it on Apollo's Chariot, which is generally liked, but that straight section is obvious. It might be on Mako, too.
Maybe I'm just not used to the angle, but the pullout looks pretty drawn out. That's not a complaint, just an observation.
I'm looking forward to riding this.
You get a brief break from the G force.
Not everyone wants that break, but having a second to get 4 heart beats at regular gravity could help prevent blackouts.
If that's a real concern for B&M, though, then the must think that, when you are curving, the Gs will be intense.
That hadn't occurred to me, but this is probably a big part of it.
I don't follow the physics behind this. Why would a longer train require a wider radius of curvature?
