I'm hoping for tall, tall, tall, because this thing is going to need to go fast, fast, fast, to have the kind of unreasonable sharp quickness that the best RMCs have. Those hills are long, and to the eye, even the double ups progress long and don't "look" like they would be very quick.... unless...
Not all fast lane lines are created equally. The comparison you made was perfect. I think Millennium Force is the worst one. You still have to stand in a line of easily 200 people. Maverick's was awesome. They basically put you right on the ride.
They seem to be setting the theme on a "shootout"... this August 16th event is also to take place at "high noon." I've gone on record as not being sold on Railblazer as the name. I think this evidence points us further away from Railblazer... not that any of the evidence ever really pointed us...
I didn't realize it was a moderator's job to put wet blankets on people's excitement. This whole thread is full of people excited about this project.. Just let me be excited. If I break some kind of rule about being too excited about a photo, let me know.
^^They are laying track on the hill again, and it looks like its going really fast. At this rate they might have it finished by the weekend if they don't stop. THAT'S whats exciting!
Also, those RMC lift hill rail "fences" always look amazing, and this one does too. Way better that those Dinn...
I'm going to guess Railblazer is a a promotional campaign. The trademark searches are fun, but if you look at the timing, I don't think we'll find anything before an announcement from Cedar Fair. The trademark application for Valravn wasn't processed until after the park announced it. Cedar...
I was at the park yesterday. I didn't even bother taking any pics because I couldn't see anything new that hasn't already been posted. Visual progress has really slowed, but I did see the crane moving and people up in there working on it all day.
I think he means that from the pics being posted, we haven't seen much more track being laid, and they made noticeable changes to the lift hill last week, but we haven't seen many obvious new things this week.
For reference, Texas Giant closed November 1st 2009, and reopened as NTG April 4th, 2011. 519 days.
Mean Streak closed September 16th 2016. Friday, May 4th 2018 would be 595 days after that.
Sounds about right with winter slowing construction.
Also, while I'm nerding out on timelines, the first...
Thanks Midway Mayhem! Looks like we can add "tallest wooden dive coaster" to the list of records broken lol. I count three vertical ledgers on that drop.
