Well, it's a seat on the first train open to the "public" (not counting the rides John and his wife (maybe others?) have had). I might pay $50-100 for certain rides at certain parks. But not hundreds. Others might though, for the right coaster. I don't think AF1 is the right one for anybody...

Started way to high. Even $250 is to high to generate much bidding this far out. Not sure it's well publicized either. And it's unclear if open to all or only pass holders (same for VIP event tickets).

Seems they had 45 days impacted by weather. So won't open with park. Pete still says spring. Date supposed to be announced march 11.

But 2 weeks out I'd expect more hype from the park.

My guess is it will open with the park in March or soon after, in time for spring break. I doubt they will announce anything untill construction completes and testing starts.

Random guess? The park calendar says the park is closed March 3.

No doubt, but I know plenty that would like it. Not the type that would be in a coaster forum though. For sure. Might become my favorite RMC. It's checks all the right boxes.

Perhaps. But if I somehow were able to name a coaster and could honor one of my parents or my children in the process I would. Hopefully something that works better than Arie Force. ;)

If a ride at Dollywood was named after Dolly or any of her close family, I don't think anyone would find it tacky or pretentious. Same for a ride at Disney named after Walt or Roy. I don't care for AF1 name. I get the point and the play on words, it just doesn't work here. But I don't find it...

But it's not named for a higher up. It's named for his father. Any issues you may have are with Jr.

Looks family oriented to me. Just a family that likes thrill rides ;) My daughter was riding coasters with inversions at age 8.
