    Top 10(ish): 2024 Edition - page 124

This probably isn’t my final list for the year as I am going to Poland in October, but anyways my top 10 is: 1: Schwur Des Kärnan- this ride is just crazy, it is really intense, it has decent airtime and it feature many strange manoeuvres which provide unique forces, only adding to the...

    The best Rollercoaster soundtrack?

I love Kärnan’s soundtrack, it is a perfect fit for the ride. It is just so epic, while also creating an atmosphere for the ride. I also love how this soundtrack is utilised through the queue line and also the ride, this soundtrack just adds to the ride’s theming and also makes the coaster more...

    WTF Merlin?

I know this strays away from what the bulk of the conversation in this thread, but I believe the Merlin’s focus should be in Thorpe, as they don’t have the strict regulations of Alton and it is easily accessible. I believe that Thorpe should make it a park focussed on rides and not theming. They...

    Best family ride hardware

I just feel like on Kärnan, the strange profiling just adds to the ride, making it less monotonous and more unpredictable. However I do agree that many Gerstlauer coasters are questionable with their profiling and sudden jolts. However they do seem to be improving, with most of their newer...

    Best family ride hardware

Firstly, if Mack did it, judging from what I have ridden there would be little force, and it would generally be a boring ride. You have a fair point saying Intamin, based off of their whole portfolio, however their newer coasters such as Hyperion have had not so good reviews. Also in my opinion...

    Best family ride hardware

I agree that a lot of their eurofighters and a few of their Infinity coasters are pretty bad, but Kärnan is far from ****.

    Best family ride hardware

Honestly, I love Gerstlauer's new family coasters, I have ridden both FireChaser and Pegasse, and they were both really fun rides. Anyone can enjoy them, they are quite easy to theme and they are extremely versatile, with them having both forward and backward launches and lift hills. They also...

    Rank the German Coasters

From what I have ridden my top 10 is 1. Schwur Des Kärnan 2. Wodan Timbur Coaster 3. Fluch Von Novgorod 4. Silver Star 5. Blue Fire 6. Euro Mir 7. Nessie 8. Desert Race 9. Flug Der Dämonen 10. Krake (By the way, the reason Colossos isn’t on the list is because it was unbearably rough when I...

    Your favorite coaster experience

I personally love the night ride on GhostRider in back row, I really got a sense of speed flying through the structure, with the occasional lights. I also love at the bottom of the first drop how the camera flash acts like a strobe. I know basically every other coaster does this, but as it is...

    Your Least Common Opinion?

I didn’t find any rattle on Kingda Ka when I rode it earlier this year And I think Nighthawk is a mildly enjoyable ride.

How do you deal with your “loose articles”?

I usually take a bag, as my home park is Thorpe Park, and there are no dumb policies there. In general, I bring my bag to parks and just pay the locker price (if I have to use a locker) as I would like to keep my phone on me throughout the day and I don’t want to take my phone on rides with me...

Carowinds | Copperhead Strike | Mack Dual Launch

Honestly I’m not too excited, I honestly think the 2 major Six Flags coasters will be better than this, but it still looks great and a solid ride to add to the depth of the park.

    Your Dream List

My home park is Thorpe Park and I honestly hope they get a VEKOMA Skydash running round the back of the park, a VEKOMA Bermuda blitz on the island behind The Swarm or an RMC woodie again on the island behind The Swarm. If Thorpe gets either of these, they would easily have the best coaster in...

    Top 10(ish): 2024 Edition - page 124

10- Fluch Von Novgorod- Really underrated, it has an incredible launch and a great single moment of ejector. 9- X2- I really need to re ride this, as I only rode it once on an outside seat on front row and it was still incredible. 8- Wodan- it has some fun laterals and fun airtime 7-...

    Rank the GCIs

Haven't ridden too many GCIs, but here is my list: 1- GhostRider (If you count it) - It has some incredible moments, it is really smooth. Back row night ride is one of the best coaster experiences I have had. 2- Thunderhead - I rode it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it is...

What parks do you have zero desire to revisit?

I'd say Drayton Manor. They have no good coasters, and G-Force is also my least favourite coaster. Also all the staff there were miserable, the food was disgusting and the whole park looked really run down. It was actually quite depressing going there.

B&M vs RMC: the best manufacturer

I must say, MACK’s megas and launched coasters are some of the best family coasters out there. m

    Your worst spite

This year my 2 most anticipated coasters that I would be riding were El Toro and Lightning Rod, El Toro was closed the duration of my visit, and I’m going to Dollywood for the first time in a few days, and it does not look like Lightning Rod will open any time soon. Also, Tonnere de Zeus was...

Energylandia | Hyperion | Intamin Hyper coaster

I agree that what I said was generalised, but generally for there to be greater levels of jerk, the hills have to be smaller, and traversed faster, however I agree there can still be higher jerk and still have sustained airtime as I guess the quarry dive on IRat exists.

Energylandia | Hyperion | Intamin Hyper coaster

The jerk of airtime has more to do with how sustained it is, instead of how powerful it is. For example, a large hill like first hill on Hyperion (if it does have ejector) will have less jerk but the airtime will be more sustained, however for smaller hills such as those found on Wicked Cyclone...
