I have to imagine the reason not to actually have it dive off the cliff are two fold.
One it's probably WAY more money to safely incorporate it onto the quarry wall and B&M's already aren't cheap so adding more money to the cost may not be ideal for Six Flags

To be clear I'm not sure about recently if they're still being limited, but when they were testing and stuff before it's been left SBNO everything I had heard was they were hitting capacity.
I'm also not a business person but I think this is the problem. The park is hitting the capacity it's allowed to have every day so why open the new thing and pay the operating costs of it?
Maybe not the exact same out of control feeling as the prototypes since RMC learned a lot from those and seemed to have changed the design, but it's already thrown out a water dummy...

Basically this. Park was a DUMP before it closed, but a dump with a TON of space and a MAJOR world attraction 15 minutes up the road. With care and proper investment this could easily be turned into a great park. That said it'd likely take a TON of capital to do that so I find it unlikely and...
This is honestly something I keep coming back to. It was 9 years between Voyage and Thunderbird.
Unless it's SDC or BGW (who's plans changed) I think it's likely that the front runner thought is Holiday World.
