Cedar Point- From the perspective of a british pleb

Hotel Breakers is good for the location but we didn't think it was nice enough for how expensive it is. It's really pretty basic inside and the restaurants aren't great. You can probably save a lot of money staying at the hotels nearby. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

Lego, Blackstone set to purchase Merlin Entertainment

I think any new projects will be slow but I can imagine next year we might see operating changes like more staff, longer hours and more trains being run. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

Netherlands & Germany mini road trip

We stayed at that gr8 hotel in Sevenum, it's simply amazing for the price. And the restaurant next door, la place, was great too. Thankfully there's one at the airport so we can show you all how good it is at the coaster force live in September. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

That spider crane thing they were using near the trees inside looks awesome. They should paint it and have it just climbing about as theming. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

When you go to Bakken the beach next to the train station (10 min walk from Bakken) is lovely. Also make sure you find time to chill out, that's a pretty packed schedule, look after yourself!

    Your top transportation rides

I loved the Kolmarden cable car but it is vaguely terrifying whenever the wind picks up. I remember when I was kid at AT my dad would always tell me about them evacuating them over the valley and having people abseil down, never knew if it was true but it definitely stopped me from rocking it!

    Magnets

So when my wife and I go down to theme parks, we try to pick up a magnet from every one we've visited so far (pic attached) anyone found any spectacular ones? Were still very annoyed we couldn't find any from the six flags parks, kolmarden or universal orlando. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

I really like this list and it makes me think I need to get on the Joker and Hyperion, I love all of the ones I've been on (although I still prefer Twisted Colossus to Wildfire mostly because I love duelling coasters). Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

Lego, Blackstone set to purchase Merlin Entertainment

If they make Lego sets of Merlin attractions I'm going to be a very poor man. Stealth, Oblivion, Nemesis, Tidal Wave, the Colossus statue, I want them all. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

Lego, Blackstone set to purchase Merlin Entertainment

Everything will now be a Lego park, every coaster replaced with a copy of the Lego coaster model and all the sea life centres filled with Lego sharks Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

Lego, Blackstone set to purchase Merlin Entertainment

I think Merlin was told to find a buyer by an investment group that owns a chunk of them and the group that owns Lego already had the money and the relationship in place. Does mean a potential for more investment though, just hard to predict where that investment would go, could be Madame...

    WTF Merlin?

That whole process is interesting, like are there a lot of 'standard' parts GCI just keep in a warehouse or is it stuff that's only for Wicker Man so has to be made to order? Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Good that no one was hurt, I bet those things can pick up a fair amount of intertia, they weigh loads they? Sounds like the loading floor bit that got bent might have protected everyone by getting in the way. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

    Alton Towers 23rd/24th June 2019

I think a lot of Brits are just a bit sad that it used to be so magical and exciting and Merlin (and Tussauds with their vending machines and money grabbing) kind of took away that magic quite a bit. It's still a great park and looks beautiful, but it's full of wasted opportunities and parts...

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

If it is just the big six challenge again but with the dungeons it's going to be quite difficult, not only do you have to pay extra to get into the dungeons but you've got to try and get on six rides with Summer queues and Alton's ridiculous opening hours. When I ran a school trip there last...

Out of your whole list I love everything you've mentioned (that I've ridden) except for El Toro. Not sure if it was something wrong with it the day we went (it was raining a lot most of the day) but I really didn't like the second half at all. I need to get Skyrush and Voyage done I think.

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Future Predictions

I'd quite like BPB to get a tall drop tower. Lots of parks now have a shot tower/ drop tower combo and something like Ikarus at Grona Lund would be awesome with the views of the whole park, can't imagine the footprint is too big either?

Right, we've booked flights and the car so we'll be getting into AMS at 8:00am and flying back at 9:20pm - car has 4 seats (as long as no-one has any massive bags) so I've asked @Coop but I still have one more space free if you're flying at the same time as us. £40 for your share and fuel, just...
