A rumour on the French forums is that Parc Astérix paid a non-compete clause so that Goudurix's layout would remain exclusive to the park.
There isn't enough evidence to confirm this, but can you imagine Goudurix clones popping out all over the world (at least as much as Intamin 10 inversions)?!
Those parks do well despite their limited funds. Or instead, some parks do have a fair bit of money to invest, and they do spend it smartly. So, what parks do you think have been wisely expanding in the past 5/10 years?
Although the park hasn't been completely refurbished yet, I really love how...
DC Rivals, Hakugei, Bandit (Yomiurilamd), Anaconda (Gold Reef City) and any Vekoma Firestorm for me
Basically, anything outstanding outside of Western Europe and the US haha
Was considering a small week-end in Dublin, but I might hold up for 2021 then.
I have to admit I'm a little disappointed to hear the ride's pacing seems somewhat uneven. Oh well, looks fun regardless!
Thanks for the nice report as always :)
Cool TR @Kw6sTheater! I find really interesting to have a then vs now comparison of your experiences, 4 year apart. It puts some of perspective about what makes us enjoy a ride, and how expectations can play around that, too.
BGT's ride collection looks stellar. Florida is quite expensive, but...
Great report so far, I really enjoy reading your comments on Legendia!
Visited the park on a sunny August day, and there wasn't much of a crowd either. Not to extreme levels of emptyness you experienced, but I'd say Lech was at the very most a 20-minute wait, most often just 5 min. Hope the...
I think my tastes have mostly remained the same throughout the 15ish years I've been an enthusiast. One notable evolution could be my experience on Taron. The amazing back-to-back-to-back snappy twists of that ride really made me strive for more twistyness on coasters ever since.
Waiting for @HeartlineCoaster to fill his list with Jungle Trailblazers ;)
Mine is really basic so far:
1 Wood Express
2 Timber!
Wonder where Fireball at Happy Valley Shanghai will go after my China trip next month.
Out of 234 coasters, I would only give perfect scores to 4: Lech, EGF, Twisted Colossus and Steel Vengeance.
Put in in percentage numbers, that amounts to 0.017%. I feel very nit-picky now haha.
@Matt N Another great topic idea!
As gimmicky and random as it is, at least this feature can easily be reversed or neutered if it doesn't prove successful.
I'm actually curious to learn what people will vote - if data is indeed collected about that.
(Go to 9:50 for the interesting bit)
Double-post: in an interview for local radio RCF, Thomas Mondon, Walibi Rhône-Alpes' marketing & sales manager, casually tossed that Mystic will open in late May.
Quote (roughly translated from French):
Maybe the park do not feel an extra row is necessary. Unlike its Dutch and Belgian counterparts, Walibi Rhône-Alpes is more of a regional park, with last year's attenance reaching 475 000. For reference, Timber also has 12-seat trains.
@CrashCoaster Besides, if you want relatively compact, intense and snappy launch coasters in China, the Vekoma Firestorm, Shockwave and Top Gun models are soon there for you ;)
Yep, shoehorned my Newkoma fanboyness in there - not even ashamed!
Going back on topic, curious to see if this clone...
