Android for me! iPhones are far too expensive for what they are and I like the extra flexibility with Android. iPhone X is a nice device, but about four times what I spent on my phone.
I have an iPad Pro for taking notes at uni and it's a lovely device but I find the OS (mainly lack of a back...
I think crucially, they should have announced it was going before taking it down. Maybe they could have had an event to auction parts of the ride and the cars as a farewell.
Universal Studios for me but Busch Gardens has the best coaster selection.
I haven't been to Disney yet. SeaWorld was nice but I'm not into performing animals and Mako wasn't built yet. Legoland was also a nice park (I love Lego) but the rides are obviously more family orientated.
Thanks for your comment! It must have been worse seeing it demolished since it was the ONLY Virginia Reel.
Would love to travel back in time and see how it compares to your typical Reverchon spinner.
It sucks, obviously it won't hurt them financially but it's a kick in the teeth that they didn't even give it a send off, and it's not like they are about to use that space to install something better.
Let's hope Icon is a success and they can install something nice a few years down the line...
That was my point - they shouldn't have taken it out because there's no chance anything better. So why do they bother saying "changes are what made the park great today" when this is clearly a charge for the worse
No, not with Icon - their first proper new coaster since 1994. My point was they won't be able to afford to fill that space with something better so their statement is bull**** and no excuse for removing the ride.
Oh well
I think I will email the park and explain that I am reconsidering visiting this year unless they bring in another new coaster on the level of Icon (since their excuse is making space and the park evolving). Not that an email, or signing a petition, will do anything anyway.
I feel really upset...
To be honest you were the person who brought up Icon to begin with.
For me at least I certainly feel less excited about Icon now. Launched coasters exist all over the globe. I was looking forward to revisiting the Mouse (only had one ride back in 2013) and that's not going to happen now.
I'm...
Yes but many launched and even multi-launch coasters exist around the world. There is only a handful of these left. I would honestly rather have the mouse open.
Wtf? Totally was not expecting this but I guess it's the same people that closed and demolished Southport Pleasureland a decade ago.
Was looking forward to riding it again this summer as well, make me think twice about visiting to ride Icon now - removing a coaster like this is NOT OK
I thought it was a bit rough but it was made worse by the uncomfortable cars. Put lapbars on it and I'm sure it would be great (...except for the quadruple heartline roll)
Thankyou for sharing, you learn something new every day :)
Apologies for my wrong answer, I had always assumed those were simply individual electric motors for each tire.
