[Complete!] SWGaF - Day 8: The Gangnam Style Room

Day 3: Europa Park and Rulantica Part 1: Europa Park I've heard excellent things about Voltron, let's figure out what we're doing then. Obviously it was the first ride we went to. Located in the new Croatia themed area, #305 Voltron Nevera is about Nikola Tesla, Mr. John Electricity himself...

Where is your local park and how often do you visit?

Thorpe Park. The general consensus with me is to visit at least three times a year (in order to pay off the annual pass). I almost didn't renew at at all for 2023, but I ended up going for it and barely paid off the AP. 2019: at least 4 visits 2020: at least 2 visits 2021: 3 visits 2022: 3...

[Complete!] SWGaF - Day 8: The Gangnam Style Room

Day 2: Erlebnispark Tripsdrill It's going to be weird having no travel notes - all of our drives have been "it went smoothly, we drove from A to B in relatively quick time with no issues". So with nothing to say on that behalf, may as well get straight into the meat of the day. Today was a big...

[Complete!] SWGaF - Day 8: The Gangnam Style Room

Day 1: Holiday Park We started with a swift drive to Holiday Park which went past like a breeze as we introduced ourselves properly and had interesting stuff to share, then suddenly we were there. Travel notes will probably not be as much of a thing as they are during my public transport...

[Complete!] SWGaF - Day 8: The Gangnam Style Room

I've known about Coaster Breaks ever since its conception - a small group of 7 coaster maniacs get driven around parks by a tour guide for a week or so, visiting many places in the process. Being a very "I love public transport!" guy, going on one of these trips sounded fun but was never really...

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

I agree - generally there are way too many element names out there when realistically most of them are just some variant of a corkscrew, barrel roll or loop. I have no idea for example why on earth "Drachen Fire Dive Drop" has its own special name when it's literally just a corkscrew. If...

^ Addendum: the two people featured in the presentation and Q&A are layout designers for Mack Rides. Stephen (aka Lenny) designed layouts for Ride to Happiness, Voltron, Beyond the Cloud & the second half of Icon. Maurice designed the layout for Hyperia.

Shortened answers in the Q&A: "would you be able to put a spinny seat on hyperia" -we think it's doable but not sure. it has to verify clearance and make sure it stays within appropriate forces. backwards seats definitely "what is your favourite mack produkt" -ride to happiness, hyperia...

What is your favourite coaster that you’ve only ridden once?

#1 Anubis - The Ride - Plopsaland De Panne (#36 overall) #2 Fury - Bobbejaanland (#37 overall) #3 Goudurix - Parc Asterix (#41 overall) #4 Troy - Toverland (#44 overall) #5 Pulsar - Walibi Belgium (#45 overall) For me I think it definitely shows that I only got one ride on each of these. I...

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

There is absolutely no reason to ever join main queue (unless you are absolutely insistent on riding with somebody). Main queue is HORRIBLE and always longer than SRQ and is generally a really dreadful queuing experience. Approximate waiting times for SRQ on 2 train operations and quick...

Which bottom/middle tier manufacturer could make the jump to being a fan favourite in 10 years?

I think ART Engineering and Zierer have pretty huge potential in the future. I haven't heard terribly favourable reviews from Zierer's looping coasters, but they make fantastic family/family thrill coasters so if only they could do something larger with the same quality.
