Honestly, I'm starting to suspect something similar to that. Could easily see a scenario where a group of people/kids decided to do a funny moment, leaned to one side of a car at the perfect moment of a curve, and caused it. Maybe from that 2nd car based on the video.
Like other train derailments do, either a rail segment got loose and bent one way, debris on the track, or weight shifted to one side during a curve.
We rarely hear about train derailments now because most trains carry fright today at least in the US.
Interesting little find via Screamscape, a teaser for an "independent dark ride" called Kooky Trails will be dropping on Halloween at 10:31 am PST. Looks to be very animation heavy.

I'm still thinking this thing is demo'ed at this point. Rumors of Intamin not being involved, everything is getting cleared, I think they are just going to wait and remove the top hat in 2023 and use the land for something new.
I mean, this just feels odd. Does BGW need 3 coasters in 3 years? At this point, I feel like BGW is getting bloated. Unless they are preparing for a lot of removals....
Because the RCT3 ride is based off a canceled Hersheypark coaster called Turbulence that never came to be. The model has been around since the early 2000's, people are just now seeing it in action.
Probably was planned and had put the money down already. My guess is it's the last new ride barring some minor new things that could be moved quickly.
Also if Santa Clara didn't want CF to sell the land then maybe don't threaten to turn the park into a parking lot themselves every couple of...
