    25-state, 40-park, month-and-a-half, post-pandemic extravaganza

All true, but the problem of course is that saying it's "just fundamentalist Christianity" that's the holdout makes it sound like a small section of the populace. A Gallup poll revealed that 41% of Americans describe themselves as "born again" or "evangelical". That's a scary number of people...

Blimey. It's fairly bizarre how much more religious the USA is compared to other first world countries. This is wildly off-topic, sorry, but I was perusing this chart only a couple of days ago which demonstrates how much of an outlier they are. Over half of Americans pray to God every single...

    Matt N’s 18th Birthday Trip 29th/30th July 2021 (Legoland Windsor/Paultons Park)

I was guilty of dismissing it as a kiddie park for a long time but when I finally got around to visiting a couple of years ago I was bowled over. Such a lovely place and surely the finest family park in the UK. P.S. Happy Birthday, pal!

    25-state, 40-park, month-and-a-half, post-pandemic extravaganza

Indeed. Apparently the annual Hatch chilli harvest is a big thing for them. Can you expand on that? I did the cave tour and don't remember this, but it's possible I'd zoned out at the time. Probably thinking about how quickly I could get back to Outlaw Run.

Nice. Did you have any Hatch Green Chillies? ("Hatch Green Chillies" is the entirety of my knowledge of New Mexican cuisine).

    The TV we watch...

Just had a look at the list of titles and noticed that Warlock is included. Did you get copies of these? I loved them when I was a kid, especially the story in the first volume. The second volume features the origins of Thanos' obsession with the Infinity Stones (then called "soul gems"). Got...

    Belgian and Dutch parks floodings

Didn't take me long to check your source. One Bjorn Lomborg, a nut-job climate change denier who wrote a book called The Skeptical Environmentalist which was studied in detail by a group of scientists... So it's no surprise at all that "so called journalists" aren't reporting his side of the story.

Lori's Trip Thread - The Spirit of St. Louis

Yeah, those reviews aren't great, are they? Seems they're currently pissing people off by charging full price despite at least half of the rides being down. Always vaguely fancied a visit due to the fact that I rode their boomerang when it was in North Wales.

What are the furthest operating coasters you have ridden North, East, South, and West from where you live?

North - Speed Monster (Tusenfryd) South - Scenic Railway (Luna Park) East - Jet Rescue (Sea World) West - Kettle Creek Mine (Playland)

Would the theme park industry be different if Disney had gotten their hands on the Harry Potter IP instead of Universal?

Unadjusted for inflation, which renders the stat meaningless. Based on that link I provided earlier, I did some number crunching on the various franchises: Average box office take per film adjusted for inflation Star Wars - main films(9) $799m Indiana Jones(4) $539m Lord of the Rings(3) $531m...

    CoasterForce’s Favourite Pennsylvania Rollercoasters

Haven't been to either Hersheypark or Kennywood, so... 1. Blue Streak (Conneaut Lake Park) Had a hugely memorable hour or so marathoning this in a deserted park. Marmite; love it or hate it?

I presume you're talking about the New Zealand version of Marmite? The original British stuff is a significantly different beast. Thicker than honey, and sharper and more in-your-face than Vegemite. I suspect there may be something in that old slogan! I've been eating Marmite since I was a...

Would the theme park industry be different if Disney had gotten their hands on the Harry Potter IP instead of Universal?

The Potter films were hugely influential because...internet?! They're based on the single most popular series of books of all time. Assuming there were to be no major screwups in the translation to the screen, in the cinema world they were about the closest thing to a sure-fire hit imaginable...
