Re: Six Flags Magic Mountain | Twisted Colossus | RMC Iron H
How much would you guys have argued about Daidasaurus, if you think this is a möbius? (Which it isn't.)
You actually went through the station twice and up the lift hill next to the first one... They converted a twin-track coaster...
That isn't rally a fair statement. The only S&S coaster that ever had a bad track record with downtime is X, which was actually Arrow's invention, the ones S&S built after X have better reliability. OK, the FlySwatters, I'll give you those, but they are incredibly complex machines, they probably...
A bunch of folks were prejudging how forceless the launch and entire ride would be and how it was a mistake and that there were better options, it wasn't special in any way to them, etc. etc. Typical coasternerd whinging.
Maybe I was in a bad mood when I was reading it, because it all seemed...
Re: Carowinds | Unknown 2015
Sure.
For coaster to coaster, Thorpe reopened Flying Fish then installed Saw.
No matter what they did in the year between, from whatever that was to Saw had to be just as drastic.
Any park that does an extensive kiddie area probably has a pretty big swing to...
Y'all want an opinion?
What a bunch of jaded goons.
Launch will be weak. Wing coasters are weak. Wah. Wah. Wah.
Guess what?
For a park located in the cornfields of southern Indiana, this is a HUGE deal, your opinion is meaningless in that regard.
Add to that the fact that a generation...
Cedar Fair's Flight of Fears? Howabout giving Paramount the credit for buying those? :P
Also, B&M trains are notoriously much, much heavier than trains from other manufacturers. All that extra mass is a lot harder to get up to speed quickly and Santa Claus, Indiana doesn't have a massive...
If anyone had said a couple years ago, heck even six months ago, that the first B&M launched coaster would be a Wing Coaster and that it would go in at Holiday World, they would have been ridiculed on the same level as the Maverick/Aquatrax rumor.
Re: Holiday World | Unknown | Unknown
...just catching up on this...
Y'know, any hypothetical guesswork involving the park's profits ignores that they've been locked up in an in-family legal battle for a couple years. Whatever buyout resulted from all that would eat into y'all's numbers.
I hadn't heard about that one, but having been in the US Navy for 20 years and seeing the USS Vincennes across the pier for many of those 20, we certainly talked about that one quite a bit.
As horrible as this is, I'm just glad that now the US isn't the only country to have shot down a civilian airliner.
Since the Ukrainian rebels don't have pilots, it makes no sense that this would have been the Ukrainian government... Which leaves either the rebels or the Russians themselves...
2000. Katun at Mirabilandia was open, but not Family Adventure.
I remember e-mailing Duane to give him the name of the park and list of coasters because none of it was in the DB. It was one of the first time I ever contacted him.
I actually found that park before it was on RCDB by taking a different route back from Mirabilandia to where I lived in Formia... Talk about surprises, finding a park with 4 coasters that 'nobody' knew about. I didn't even have a real digital camera yet, either.
