    Dollywood |"Wild Eagle"| B&M Wing Coaster

It's a bit of a mixed bag review-wise. I really like them, as they feel comfortable but give enough to allow some degree of freedom, more akin to less-restrictive flyer restraints; others think they're far too tight. Sucks that you can't put your arms up either really.

    Laptop Buying

Lenovo Thinkpads are excellent for durability/build quality and all-round features, so I've been told. The problem is like many have been saying, it completely depends on how much you have and what you want to do with them. Avoid Acer, as they have a tendency to fall apart. Check out here for...

    SOPA and PIPA.

Some genuinely fascinating discourse on the topic: Firstly, if you still need convincing that the bill isn't entirely bad, or has any good intentions behind it whatsoever, let me direct your attention to Clay Shirky (an absolute spitting image of a bald Tom Hanks) on TED. A superb video, and I...

    NEMESIS: SUB-TERRA [Alton 2012]

The more I look, the more the guy on the left looks like Neal. I take the Merchant comment back. The DRAMATIC ARMS dude also just looks like he was given the direction "stare at your hand, as if it was totally new to you."

    NEMESIS: SUB-TERRA [Alton 2012]

Question is, how much did they pay Stephen Merchant to grow those mutton chops?

    ORP/ORVs

Heh, good point. I personally don't, because the value they give me is less than the price they cost. If parks could add value to the service perhaps by making it cheaper, or by making it more flexible by giving me a digital copy, I'd be much more inclined to do so.

Is a new wooden coaster for the UK actually a good idea?

Oh, well I guess they're like desktop PCs over laptops then? You can upgrade/keep value in desktops but laptops are far, far harder to upgrade and so depreciate/become obsolete much faster? Whee analogies. I think given Gravity Group's new cheapo model that we're certainly more likely than we...

Is a new wooden coaster for the UK actually a good idea?

Another problem is that I think the longer a park goes without adding one, the more difficult a time they're going to have in justifying and marketing it. Wooden coasters are the gaming PCs of the coaster world. They are expensive in comparison with the "console" coasters, and require more time...

    Thorpe Park |"The Swarm"| B&M Wing Coaster

Re: Thorpe Park | This makes me want a theme-park only social network that uploads and hosts all of your ORPs/ORVs in an easily manageable way. Could support the thing with park participation, and present it in a collect-them-all sort of way on a map or something. That would give people...

    Thorpe Park |"The Swarm"| B&M Wing Coaster

I guess in a way it would be more successful if they gave out a service to allow people to have them posted to social networks via their app or something. Both ORPs and ORV are either for posterity, in which case the majority of people who enjoy having huge online repositories of their memories...

    Thorpe Park |"The Swarm"| B&M Wing Coaster

As CF's Official Fattest Welshman™, I can say I had no problems with the Raptor restraints, and thought they were some of the most comfortable I've had the pleasure to have parts of myself rubbed against. Then again, I have absolutely no problem with Eurofighter restraints, and find them...

    Shocking First Rides

There's nothing intrinsically bad in necroposting, to be fair. I'd prefer people used search to find existing topics about stuff, and contribute to them over people making new topics because it's 3 pages down... The Games we play...

^I've heard it off several people who've utterly hated all Elder Scrolls up until now, that Skyrim's nothing like them. That's not to say there aren't people who hate it, of course, just less of them. I, for one, absolutely adore it. As someone who's never played an Elder Scrolls, or properly...

    Overpriced Food

I was always under the impression that parks used the same pricing model as cinemas - make as much profit on the food you sell because it's not like anyone has anywhere else to go. Captive audience and all that jazz.

Struck me a few weeks ago how much I missed my GC. I still think it has the most ergonomic controller I've had the pleasure of using, with the 360 a closeish second. Wind Waker's my favourite Zelda, and probably one of my favourite games. Along with Paper Mario (amazed as to how intelligent and...

Phone hacking and the crappy state of of the British Press

Re: Phone hacking and the crappy state of of the British Pre Twitter's on fire with news of this. If you're one to keep ahead, follow Graham Linehan. Keeps my feed fresh with salient retweets on it, and also made the IT Crowd. So that's nice. Er, back to the topic with some relevant linkspam...
