SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

I was thinking about the loading taking forever as well (it is SFMM), but do consider this... the train only holds 12, so there's much less to check than there is on TC and Tatsu. So in theory, it should go faster. In theory. But I will say that if it's the same comfort collars as Sea World...

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

I don't know if that's really true in SoCal. There was a big rumor a year or two ago that SFMM was going to get a B&M Dive Machine, but backed off when they heard Knott's was going forward with Hangtime.

^I can't imagine it would be, with Knott's Berry Farm Pony Express within an hour away.

Six Flags St Louis removing Excalibur?

Just for the record, this Evolution is not the same as the Evolution that travels across most carnivals (at least, in the US/West Coast... it may be different in Europe). Ours is manufactured by Fabbri, and the cars are titled back hydraulically. This means they can be tilted back to the...

    Best Non-spite You've Had

I was told that if Goliath at SFNE was open (formerly Deja Vu at SFMM, the giant Vekoma Boomerang), run to it, because it's never open. When I finally got to visit SFNE this summer, I basically figured I'd miss that credit. While it opened a bit late, to my surprise, not only was it open most...

    Most Obscure Coaster you've ridden

Mine is the Bobsled coaster at Santa's Village in Lake Arrowhead, California. It was a kiddie coaster, and I probably rode it in the late 70's or so. Got 10 points for that one, the park closed in 1998. (It's reopen now-sort of--but it's more of an "adventure park" than the campy Santa's...

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

In fairness, I've found that more often than not Screamscape will outright say, "this is rumored" on many of their updates, but I then think most people promptly ignore that part and just go right to "Screamscape said..." I've actually submitted info to Screamscape, and there's no screening...

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom | Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster | Skywarp

It also just be me, but I hate it when rides have seats facing both forwards and backwards, but then only move in one direction. Many Wipeout flat rides do this (I know not all, but many). You're only getting half the ride experience. :emoji_confounded:

Is it a cred? - A general discussion topic

I've been having similar thoughts about the Sky Warp going in at SF Discovery Kingdom. I generally don't count Larson Loops and their ilk as credits, but this one? Not as sure, as well as the possible upcoming Sky Horizon coming to Sea World San Diego.

    Biggest Theme Park Flops

Really, I'm not sure how you can talk about theme park flops without mentioning SuperStar Limo at DCA. A close second for me would be the doomed Submarine Quest at Sea World San Diego. Both those are listed, with video, as well as a few others, at this article...

    What is a trolley park?

Perhaps technically, yes. And the official, historical definition is as Antinos stated a few posts above. But colloquially, often trolley park can mean "small, independent amusement park". Independent defined as not owned by a large parent company such as Cedar Fair, Six Flags, Merlin, etc.

^I agreed with you until I actually tried it. It was much better than I was expecting.

On a side note, they just announced VR on Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom will be ending July 29. (Didn't know where else to put this info... is there a general SFMM thread? I didn't see one on a quick search.)

    Hardest final brake run slam?

I mean, Full Throttle at SFMM brakes you as you come down full speed from a hill and launch. That's gotta be up there.

    Canada&USA;LaR/SFNE/SFGE/Quassy/Compounce/Coney/Knoebels/Cedar Point/Waldameer/Niagara/CanWonderland

I just returned from my first trip to Lake Compounce about a week ago. Despite the speed and setting of Boulder Dash, I found the bottom of about 3 hills to be really, really jarring... so that kinda put a damper on it for me. You didn't feel those? I like Phoenix, but it's been a very long...

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

Actually, I just returned from a trip where I got to ride Time Traveler about a week ago, so it's pretty fresh in my mind. I did enjoy it a lot. It's not really that intense, but it was fun, especially not knowing which way you'd face on inversions or launches. That said, they still seem to...

    Is Seaworld Dying?

^I think you have a point for Orlando. There's just so much competition so close by. I visited Orlando for many, many years before I ever got around to a single visit to their SW. And even then, after one visit, I haven't really felt compelled to return when WDW and Universal have more...

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

Knott's doesn't have space to work with. I think Hangtime gets a pass because it had to fit on a footprint the size of a Boomerang. Given that constraint, I think we got the best we could expect (maybe even better) for that space. I will concede FT was a much bigger disappointment, because...

    Is Seaworld Dying?

I can only speak for the SD Sea World... and obviously it's purely anecdotal evidence... but both times I visited the park this year, it was actually pretty crowded. For SD, last year was especially dismal with Ocean Explorer and that horrible Submarine Ride. Even I avoided the park that year...

SFMM | West Coast Racers | Premier Quad Launch Möbius Sky Rocket

And not that it does it anymore, but also first to break 100 mph. Also, both Ninja and Viper are quite uncommon styles anymore, so that has it's own appeal to fanatics. While I think SFMM has disappointed (I was really hoping for a Maverick style instead of Yolo, and I know most hate GL), I...
