I does look slow, but I'm sure it'll catch you off guard like Lost Gravity did.
I assume they're holding off because the new area isn't finished yet? Actually more annoyed they're closing off the path to the pier now, so you have to walk around the Western bit!
If they're doing test runs and everything, I assume they'll do soft openings soon before a press opening and finally open for the public. This could drag on until June/July by MPG standards. But hey, at least they'll get out all the teething problems by then (hopefully)!
Forget about the cred, I HAVE to see that one-of-a-kind family-friendly construction fence!!!
Marketing much?
They still don't give out what the problem is really and leaving people in the dark is quite annoying. Demolishing Colossos would be a bad move, even for Merlin.
VR on The Smiler would be stupidly insane!
Even Merlin isn't that crazy. :P
I'm suspecting it's probably a Smiler themed ride option on Galactica or something like that.
That, or a sudden flat ride!
Reading through the FB comments, a lot of people are actually quite upset about the fence as well for some reason? Even going so far that it's a measure to hide how broken down the ride looks and saying it's going to be demolished soon. I don't think they'll take down their biggest ride, but not...
Yeah, they did say it wouldn't open for the start of the season, but later in 2017.
Really a shame, I was looking forward to ride Colossos at the end of the year. I wonder what's wrong with it though that it would take an entire season to fix :(
Now that you mention it, I used to rave all over Alton Towers back when my home park was still Movie Park Germany.
Now that AT is a town away, I still enjoy going there every now and then, but also more aware of problems and faults in the park.
Would still happily tag along to the park though...
Didn't Walibi Holland announced they'll have "The Clinic" permanent in the park, with an added VR section?
And not sure if someone mentioned it, but they just recently put up another teaser online on YT. Not sure if both videos are related. But judging they have the same date on them, I can...
A first teaser of On-ride has been posted this morning by Movie Park:
They also revealed the general theme for the area, called "Federation Plaza". No idea how it's going to look like since I'm not familiar with the ST franchise, but I assume everything is going to look polished and futuristic?
They kind of did that when I first rode it on opening day. They had some actors in the train dressed like someone in the second VR section, but I'm pretty sure said actor wasn't around the second time I was on a couple of weeks later.
I don't know the exact specs of the VR, but I do think it is...
I'm so glad to see the entire area is getting a new look as well! Ever since they removed the LWP/Cop Care Chase the lot has became abandon (with the occasional castings and company events in the museum). Might even overlook that it's going to be Star Wa...I mean, Star Trek themed! <3
