As far as I know from friends in France, French people dislike Disneyland and the majority tries to avoid the park at all cost. You'll see them all flocking to parks like Parc d'Asterix.

The only bus company that runs a service up to the Towers from Stoke is First Group, and you can find there website here: https://www.firstgroup.com/potteries/more/alton-towers Usually they would have the info up there, but it seems that for the time being the 2018 schedule hasn't been made...

[Childhood intensifies] Didn't even know Jim Knopf was getting a cinema release. Funny enough that the park itself will locate the ride in the France bit of the park despite being quite a German thing (also I didn't realise the park even had a German section to begin with). :)

There used to be a second entrance for hotel guest that would get you straight into the Forbidden Valley for ERT's that goes through the forest bit behind Galactica. If you were a hotel guest or had a pass you could just go through there and avoid the extra walking. I doubt it'll will be open...

Nice to know that they were thinking about making it a hybrid, but I imagine not a lot of fans would have liked that. Curious what new stuff they'll add though (unless it's VR).

I love how they just say "It's going to be saved", while there's no official word from the park yet (at least no source was given in the article, so yeah). Am expecting some official noise from the park today though.

I threw one of my friends onto Helix as their first ride. After being terrified for an hour they managed to warm up to the idea of riding anything ever again. Took him another day to get addicted to rollercoasters. So I assume if you need to convince your friends, bring out the big guns straight...

I don't think they ever mentioned "world first" in the marketing? Just "world-class" all the time...

For me it's a question of how often I actually plan to hit up a Merlin attraction in a year, so am Agreed, as long as you plan to hit up a Merlin attraction at least twice within a year. But for me it was more a case of "I have to get the most of this, so I'll visit" instead of "I was planning...
