I’m sure it won’t be a commercial flop. They could’ve built a 500ft, 200mph coaster and some people would complain it were too short etc. I have faith in Rule 5 who’re doing the majority of Icon’s marketing. We’re probably a month or so off seeing a TV ad, lets hope it’s good! :)

ICON started testing today. It gradually got further and further up the top hat before tests finished at 5pm. I’d say it got about 3/4 up, tomorrow it should clear it for the first time.

Is Icon finished yet? There’s still a lot of landscaping and theming set pieces to put in.

The train pattern is snakeskin. ICON is a serpent that been released from the depths of the Earth by a giant sword after a tidal wave hit the land of Blackpool. Before you say it’s ridiculous, if Alton can have an alien called NEMESIS then Blackpool can have a serpent called ICON.

Amanda has confirmed ICON will open for May Bank Holiday.

They’re certainly unique. The pattern is quite overpowering and reminds me more of an RCT3 Soaked path than a snake but I’ll reserve full judgement until I see the lead car.

Yeah it's all attached to the sliding mechanism. It's very nifty and reminds me a lot of how the classic wooden coaster transfer tracks work.

But that is the transfer track, the entire exit platform (along with the lockers) moves East / West.

It's something like 80kph on Launch 1, 85kph on Launch 2. I'm sure they can go faster than that if they ever needed to though.

It’s propped up against the already installed track and tied down. Protective padding in between the two, of course.

It’s being stored there temporarily as there’s no space left on the ground to lay it flat! It’s for the yet to be installed turn adjacent to Grand Prix.

No offence, but you don't know what you are talking about. Icon will have many oriental trees and gardens when the landscaping is complete. Give them chance.
