The theming made the layout a lot more interesting and engaging.
I feel like the barrel roll at the end is unneeded. The layout is exciting without it.
I find the experience lasts a little too long.
But these are minor criticisms against the amazing work you've done.
Who am I? I like doing weird things with regarding coaster design. I also like trying to do sensible things. I like to balance these two.
This is currently what I have been doing in Planetcoaster. You can visit my Steam gallery at...
I played the alpha. It's very much a no-limits for theme park building. Not exactly my cup of tea since I like having a bit of £££ in my park building.
If you want really in depth theme park design this game is for you. You can build flat rides from scratch.
There's a check option in camera controls that lets it be like RCT3.
Use Z to rotate rides. Press it for 90 degrees, or hold it and swivel mouse for a more precise rotation.
I recommend playing the beginner career mode levels as they do a decent job of drawing your attention to different...
It's frightful how talented the current extended community is.
My friend, who is a RCT design virgin (he only played for fun; he never went into design,) is vomiting some beautiful work. The game encourages you to use scenery well...
It's been an exciting time over these last few years. The cliche up and downs. You can see my growth. Now it's time to jump ship.
Planet Coaster is the long awaited rebirth of this "things" we love. I will now grow from humble beginnings in this new game and reach where I was in RCT3, and...
It's released now!
It's great!
If you're proficient with RCT3 don't be disheartened by being overwhelmed by things that are new or changed. Just play the career mode and you'll find your feet in no time.
Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train (WC16) | Thorpe Park | May 2
Bear in mind that Darren describes the ride as a re-imagining of The Ghost Train. Not horror attraction/maze. And ghost trains are aimed at creeping out older children and other children, and provide whimsical Halloween thrills for...
Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train (WC16) | Thorpe Park | May 2
Derren's Browns shows have always appeared up front creepy and scary, but when you watch them, they turn out to be exciting instead. If Derren Brown's Ghost train is exciting instead of scary, then it's on topic for the tone of his...
Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train (WC16) | Thorpe Park | May 2
Hopefully they can act on the feedback and edit the ride appropriately.
Sub-Terra was improved, but a lot of visitors who originally rode the ride in its initial form did not realise it got changed. Best open it in the way it was...
Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train (WC16) | Thorpe Park | May 2
I'm just waiting. I tried this whole cynicism thing and it does work well for me.
The thing will open. It will be either good or bad. People will remember it or wish to forget it.
I am apathetic regarding this. I will never ride it...
^ Still struggling.
I have issues with not knowing how to rotate the station and battling with the camera. I don't know how to deal with this.
I also want them to add water to the test client so I can see if you can get coasters to tunnel underwater.
I like the terraforming tools. I just do not...
Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train (WC16) | Thorpe Park | May 2
It's like Clemont from the current Pokemon Anime series named it. Really to the point and quite clunky sounding.
Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train (WC16) | Thorpe Park | May 2
This makes me thinking of mineshaft type experience. I can't think of any other examples where claustrophobia and vertigo meet. Unless there are transitioning elements that change the environment "physically".
Am I the only one glad the passengers were stuck hanging from the track? That's the correct position of the trains right?
If Oblivion was stuck with passengers hanging from the track, then I would have concern.
The graphical aesthetics look much better than before.
Compare it how it looked at the start of this thread; a sort of unofficial Miiverse Themepark simulation.
The game looks more lively and engaging. Less like a CAD course project.
I'm happy that both types of RCT fans will hopefully be...
I'd like to start doing stuff in Planetcoaster (see my RCT3 Thread for what I do in RCT3). I am still wrestling with the camera, unfortunately. I don't understand camera terminology enough to work out how to adjust the camera to what I like.
Having it similar control to RCT3 would be a nice...
