The thing is, perhaps they saw how popular Nemesis was. Nemesis is dereliction. However, it's done in such a way it's quite discomforting. Excessive dereliction is a bit much. And the theming can justify half-finished work on theming.
I rode the marine simulation ride at Porta Aventura. The queue line does a good job of building up tension and I was really anxious waiting and regretted agreeing to queue.
The ride itself was actually pretty meh. The narrative was predictable so I wasn't shocked. It was interesting but boring...
I agree with the comments of the expected theming is poor choice.
Thrill seekers will be disappointed with a ride that is tamer than it is advertised.
Young children will be discouraged by a ride that implies you or someone else will die. Sure, there are children who don't care, but I was a...
As mundane yet interesting this development is, I am ashamed at how much I check this thread for updates. There isn't really anything mysterious to speculate. I'm genuinely interested in this coaster.
They are new to presenting and their script is awful.
They worked hard to make it decent. But yeah, awful script and it showed they struggled with it, especially with the lady.
As a non-coaster rider, Rita seems to be very accessible. For me, it's drops that put me off riding. Inversions not so much. Rita is just really really fast.
At least it's not "World First" because then we'd be looking for washing machines.
That was funny. I suggested that idea on another forum back in SW7. My post was deleted and I was told to not post spoilers. I had no idea that someone had "leaked" the washing machine "fact". I just looked at the...
Is "Experience" a throwaway word, or will the coaster have enhancements?
Looking at Thirteen, they can add a bit of drama to the coasters. Actually, Alton Towers has always been about the drama.
Or market it as "World's First Lovely Looking Rollercoaster!!!"
This is why I haven't got a career in marketing. I would be to the point.
SW8 is coming out 2018! It's made of wood and some metal. It's fun!
Anyone else gets a sense that "ground breaking" will be a pun of sorts? I know AT likes to hype their SW's, but I wonder if the choice of words was deliberate.
With Nemesis, Alton Towers were quite creative with their restrictions. So, I hope they have something in mind to justify the unusual lifthill. I mean, I hope they make it a theme point.
To celebrate six weeks since I last posted, I decided to do some more work in PlanetCoaster. I was not distracted by the set of three career maps they released with the Summer update.
I'm inspired by Alton Towers when it comes to design. Part of that is using flatrides to enhance the nearby...
I find Planet Coaster ruins a lot of excitement for real life coasters.
As in, some of the stuff people make there make me weep for them to exist in real life.
Regarding SW8, I am interested in what it'll be. I'm fond of the sexy insanity hybrid woodies can offer, so, who knows what we'll get...
