World Fairytale Land | Hainan China | Theme Park

The scope of this project is just outrageous. That's a 50 meter top hat entirely within a mountain, which looks 70-80 meters tall. So excited to see the finished product

Sea World Australia | Leviathan | Gravity Group | 2022

On the Parkz forums I was seeing either June or Easter, but that may just be enthusiast speculation

    Top 10(ish): 2024 Edition - page 124

Not yet! I'm not sure when Japan will be feasible but I hope within the next 5 years. Assuming things get back to normal by next summer, my main intentions are a large Europe trip and the southeastern US parks

    Top 10(ish): 2024 Edition - page 124

Updated list after a visit to 4 small new PA parks (Sesame Place, Dutch Wonderland, Lakemont, Waldameer) and a revisit to Kennywood. 1) Voyage 2) Python in Bamboo Forest 3) Helix 4) Dinoconda 5) Boulder Dash 6) OCT Thrust 7) Maverick 8) Skyrush 9) Lightning Run 10) Wildfire 11) Storm Chaser 12)...

How many theme parks have you visited since parks reopened?

Due to travel restrictions I've needed to stay local. But after a weekend trip I now have: Quassy Lake Compounce Casino Pier (+3) Playland's Castaway Cove (+4) Six Flags Great Adventure (+1) Sesame Place (+1) Dutch Wonderland (+3) Lakemont Park (+1) Kennywood Waldameer (+5) Will likely add...

    Most unique roller coaster lineup?

It's gotta be Weiner Prater. What other park has 5 wild mice ? The lineup makes sense given the park's history and set up, but that doesn't change the fact that the ride lineup is extremely strange and redundant

What is your top 10 to do list?

Here's my list. I have it divided into two groups. The first group is the ten roller coasters I want to ride most (in relation to how impressive/objectively good they look). The second group is constituted of quirky, unusual, remote, and random credits around the world which I will not feel...

    Top 10(ish): 2024 Edition - page 124

Made a little trip down to New Jersey to pick up some new credits and ride some old favorites. Rankings have seen some small changes (but I'm bored and can't travel so why not update them here). -New Credits -Moved in rankings -Haven't ridden since 2018 or earlier 1) Voyage 2) Python in Bamboo...

Jinan Sunac Theme Park | Jinan | Theme Park

Looks like a great layout! Very curious to see how it runs

    PowerPark | Pitts Special | Gerstlauer Infinity | 2020

Not totally understanding the apparent distaste for this ride. From an advertising standpoint, it sure is a head scratcher, but at a coaster it looks like a great addition that will make for an awesome trio of coasters at PowerPark. The signature element doesn't appear like it will do too much...

Universal IoA | Jurassic World VelociCoaster | Intamin Blitz | 2021

A similar element on Pantheon has been referred to as an "inverted airtime hill," which I don't know if is entirely the correct description either. I would say even if the direction of rotation stays the same, if at 180 degrees it pauses for a bit, then I'd call it a stall.

    PowerPark | Pitts Special | Gerstlauer Infinity | 2020

I really wish Gerstlauer would make some longer trains. With the little 8 seaters it's impossible to the get the tug of back row airtime coming off of hills. Still really interested to see some footage of this however! If executed well this could be a solid ride!

Coasters that were built too early?

Yikes, this is a freezing cold take. The massive 4Ds are absolutely brilliant. They're extremely aggressive, yes, but I think that's a lot of the appeal. I'd hardly say the awkwardness and uninspired layouts of the free flies are an improvement upon three of the best roller coasters ever built...

    New Coaster at Wiener Prater

Once this and Euro Coaster are complete, I'm really curious how many switchback elements this park will have in total. It seems so redundant to have 6 wild mouse style coasters in the same park... especially when three have spinning cars. Certainly seems like a unique park however.

    TusenFryd | Storm | Gerstlauer Invert | 2023

This might be possible in the US as well if people weren't idiotic  Glad to see that European parks could be opening within a months time however, as long as the proper precautions are taken.

    Tripsdrill | Hals-Über-Kopf & Volldampf | Vekoma STC & Family Boomerang Coaster

This is a prototype that just started testing! Wait to ride until you judge harshly. I can definitely see this being king of Tripsdrill. Excited to see how it breaks in and how this area looks with theming. Here's to hoping for a POV soon to lift our spirits mid-quarantine.

Chengdu Wanda City | All Speeds | Taron Clone | 2021

Have you ever been to a Chinese park? Majority of the ones I've visited have phenomenal theming. I have faith that this will turn out well, too. It's unlikely that it reaches the immersiveness of Taron, but that's also referencing perhaps the greatest theming on any roller coaster which isn't...

VinWonders | Phú Quốc, Vietnam | Theme Park

I wish more coasters would actually take advantage of how good a top hat can really be though. From my experience OCT Thrust is the only one that really sustained the airtime from the climb, over the crest of the top hat, and down the drop. I would LOVE to see some more with similar shaping...
