I think permanent sideways seats would interesting. We've obviously seen a lot go backwards or spin, but never really a stationary sideways seat (kind of like a surfing position, but seated). I have found on spinning roller coasters that a sideways orientation is a great change of pace (vertical...
For me it's normally D, but in select cases C. On a rougher coaster (i.e. boomerangs) backwards sections are boring and gimmicky, but on smoother coasters (most notably Time Traveler) backwards sections can be awesome. That first drop backwards is insanity.
After visiting both Kemah Boardwalk and Silver Dollar City this week my list has some major changes. Here is my updated top 15, new additions have explanations:
1) Boulder Dash
2) Maverick
3) Skyrush
4) Superman The Ride
5) Wicked Cyclone
6) El Toro
7) Boardwalk Bullet - This ride is a hidden...
I'll be there in mid-June so it's looking doubtful that Valkyria will be open :( hopefully that means the park won't be busy though in anticipation for opening!
This thing is looking amazing! That drop <3 Definitely seems to be on pace for a July opening.
Personally not a fan of how short some of the hills are. It doesn't seem like they have enough steepness to really offer much airtime. I could be wrong, as it will take them at high speeds.
Interesting topic! Based on this system my top five parks ended up being-
1) Hersheypark: 5.857
2) Lake Compounce: 5.700
3) Cedar Point: 5.528
4) SFGAdv: 5.308
5) SFNE: 5.167
The actual order of my top 5 favorite parks is actually 1) Cedar Point 2) Hersheypark 3) Lake Compounce 4) Knoebels 5)...
Very unsuccessful with only 12 new credits. 2018 is looking very bright though as I will likely be getting 35+ credits including some really amazing ones (Helix, Wildfire, Lightning Rod, Iron Rattler, Balder, etc).
I've heard good things about STOE. It apparently runs through the layout a lot faster than it looks from POV/off ride and actually has some nice airtime.
I can definitely see where you're coming from there. All I've got to say is that you need to get back to Compounce. The reprofiling has done WONDERS for Boulder Dash. The turn after the drop is still quite rough, but it's absolutely flying through the course and the last few hills are MUCH...
