^ I agree with you, however, at SOME point the company needs to invest big in their flagship parks, if they want to keep guests coming through that turn style. Investing a large amount in one or two parks a year isn't going to land them in the same hot water. This time they are being smart...
The only problem I have with the "spinner" rumor (and I've heard this rumor from several people) is I thought I remember reading somewhere that Silver Dollar City helped develop this ride along with Mack, and that was part of why the price tag was so large $26 million. In these type situations...
Admittedly, the new Mack extreme spinner was designed to do things that the former version did not. Launches, inversions and quick changes in direction. Perhaps they could do something really interesting with the concept. But will they?
You guys make good points. But people have been waiting for a West coast version of Maverick seemingly forever. Or Nitro, Superman, El Toro or Expedition g force ect...
At some point we have realize those caliber rides just aren't coming lol
So out of 19 roller coasters, X2 and Tatsu. Yeah that really set people up to think SFMM was going to add more great coasters. I 'll give you Tatsu, but X2 is polarizing at best due to it's roughness. And I know Knotts and SFMM are not the same, but the same company that built Fury 325 and SV...
^ Expect the best? Can you name a ride in the last 25 years that has conditioned their customer base to expect the best? I'd really like to know what that was. Goliath? lol
I think SFMM has conditioned their customer base to expect exactly what rides Full Throttle and Scream represent...
^ But who's fault is that really? SFMM has never promised anyone that they were going to stack their top 10 list with awesome coasters. They build what they damn well please, and always have. It's people's own fault if they expect differently.
And it's certainly not Mack's fault, because their...
I'm not sure a Mack spinner would be such a bad idea, and would be an interesting addition to the park's lineup. Short term, everyone would bitch about it, but down the road I think people would appreciate it.
I'm not saying that's what it is though, because I have no idea. But I personally...
Won't be long before Steel Vengeance is called overrated as well. I just rode it and it's amazing, but it's not the world beater people have been hailing it to be. I still prefer Lightening Rod and Medusa Steel Coaster over it, and it's the second half of the ride that really propels it. The...
And it's all subjective I realize. People who prefer RMCs embedded in the park's topography like Iron Rattler or Wildfire won't find TC's setting right over the parking lot very interesting. Some will deduct points for that second lift. Some people prefer the taller scaled rides and some prefer...
Pacing issues I get, as that was literally designed into the ride with two lifts. Lack of airtime? that ride actually hurt after 3 rides I was slammed into the restraints so forcefully. Of the RMCs I've ridden, this one has the strongest, especially towards the front of the train. I'll say that...
I don't doubt it. Great America spent nearly a decade removing coasters rather than adding them. I can see cedar fair taking a rather aggressive approach to drawing in new visitors. Plus, I doubt Railblazer and all of it's 90 feet/1,500 ft of track was THAT big of an investment.
Knotts has tried to add a hyper on a few occasions, and each time plans fell through. They're better off adding a some sort of Vekoma, RMC or Mack small sized airtime machine instead. The park needed a sit down, complete circuit looper...with a marketing hook. And that's what they got. No it's...
