I don't think bankruptcy in the magnitude that SF was forced into can ever be fully recovered from.
People get angry at them for adding cheap, short coasters, but they're able to more quickly pay back these smaller investments. It's like using your CC to purchase dinner, and then paying it...
They probably shouldn't have released one at all. Lots of disappointed fans on the internet who seemed to have just now discovered how short the ride is. ?
Eh, I really don't care. It's not like they were going to add anything good to that spot, and it's easy enough to ignore. SFMM has much bigger issues than some glorified carnival ride
I do like the support structure, and I like that we finally have another ride that crosses over the pathway. Honestly, I love this addition. And I couldn’t care less that I’m in the minority. I never decide what I like based on what everyone else is saying.
Yes we have this ride already...don’t...
When I think Surf Coaster from B&M, for some reason I picture something similar to RMC's single rail concept. Something with thin, surf board like rolling stock.
So far this is looking great. And I’m personally looking forward to it, and looking forward to riding it multiple times now that it probably won’t be opening until AFTER school is in and the busy season is over.
Bad for SFMM, perfect for me!
Even the regular Wonder Woman clone would have a better throughput Green Lantern lol.
People should really be careful what they ask for...this is still Six Flags. They could slap a Super Loop or Skywarp in there and call it a day.
The park doesn't even advertise it as a family coaster, so I'm not sure where that idea came from. On the park's own website it's listed under "extreme" thrill. It's a thrill coaster, just like Twisted Colossus...just like Full Throttle.
A ride doesn't have to be large to be thrilling...so...
It's not about matching Cedar Point though. It's about building big, long rides again (like CP still can). Right now they cannot afford to do so, so I'm not sure what you want them to do. When those big rides get old, they're going to be replaced by cheap, short rides that break one record they...
^ Well...Nothing lasts forever, so we can only hope that sometime in the next 5 years the chain sees a major shift in leadership. Someone who recognizes that SFMM was once pace for pace, right up there with Cedar Point, and needs to be there again. But who makes smart choices, not just big rides...
Yeah...I'm the stubborn one lol
I'd imagine if these current rides do sustain themselves, they'll simply replace them with even cheaper, shorter rides. Super Loops will never go out of style. ;)
I don't have a narrative...so that's just "internet speak" on your part. The facts speak for themselves...major investments don't automatically lead to a bump in attendance. And honestly, SF may be installing cheap attractions, but whether they are resting on their laurels or not has yet to be...
Read between the lines, if Cedar Point were the shining light of the chain, you know they would be yelling from the rooftops to their investors.
And were all disappointed in the "cash strapped" Six Flags. It sucks that 10 years from now we will have a park full of one trick ponies and the only...
