Hi all,
I'm literally in the process of getting name badges ready!
But being a bit out of touch with the CF community, I'm afraid I don't have everyone's first name (or may be mis-remembering them, it's been a while!).
So if I post my list here, let me know what your preferred first name is...
I've been almost completely out of the CF scene for a decade, because of...life!
Still think about y'all though. And I'm doing my best to educate the kids in the ways of the Force [emoji846].
This is my long-winded way of saying I'm looking into bringing the family along for Chessie. Not a...
Yes, the rumours are true, it's actually going to be SUNNY in Blackpool for a Live that I'm actually at!
Think last time I went it hailed...

I've been AWOL from Lives and coastering in general for faaaar too long!
If I can keep my life sorted out for the next 3 weeks (not a given), then I will actually turn up for this one [emoji16].
Icon + Avalanche + wristband for me.
(May also go for Alton on Sunday, haven't ridden a coaster...
Let's suppose that the raft in question had a responsible adult on it, specifically in charge of all the children on the raft.
Let's also suppose that the adult saw all of the relevant warning signs, and repeatedly made sure that every child understood not to stand up.
Even with all of that in...
^I'm never riding Upswinget again, as an acrophobe it scared the crap out of me!
Do we know for definite that the Kanonen space is being used for the Dive-r, rather than Loke? It's not much of a footprint.
Not sad to see Kanonen get cannoned - easily the worst launch coaster I've ever ridden...
^Sorry Joey, I'm probably being dense but I don't understand the relevance. I was merely saying why I thought a paper published a new story last week on the Hydro incident.
True. The thing about the Smiler incident is that it likely wouldn't have happened if any of the ops/engineers had spotted the stalled train.
We've not seen the investigation results for this yet (and I suspect that it will come out in public, the press will be sniffing for something scandalous...
Classic journalistic response to a rare incident - find the poor sods who last had it happen to them and wave a microphone in their face.
They have got a point in that if safety can realistically be improved then it should be, but as we know it doesn't mean thrill rides are inherently unsafe.
I hadn't considered that before, it's an interesting idea. Although the bumper is below foot level, it's only intended to handle light impacts so it could have misbehaved under heavy impact and forced material upwards. Possibly another thing that may need sorting out before it re-opens.
On the...
I'd be surprised if the ride was scrapped entirely, but if they keep it I would expect them to solve the stalling issue - any more valleyed trains in the future and there'd be uproar.
Since that's likely to require major work, it's going to be 2016 at least before it re-opens.
