Not such a minor modification, but I really think Alton Towers could sail through an easy season by adding a barrel roll and helix to Oblivion and remarketing it as Oblivion Inferno or some nonsense.
It'd make a lot of sense, be super marketable and breathe new life into what's clearly a tired...
I think the perception of them "falling behind" is also related to the same topic of them historically building prototypes (I forgot about Déjà Vu in my previous post!) and/or the tallest, fastest, etc. Their more recent additions are slightly more modest and not quite the headline grabbers e.g...
Probably because they often build prototypes or near-prototypes. You could make the same observation of Alton Towers for similar reasons with respect to Oblivion and Air.
That is quite expensive for the Chinese market, but then again it's pretty comparable with Shanghai Disneyland. Lowest priced tickets are 418 RMB (Universal) Vs. 435 RMB (Disney) whilst top price tickets go up to 748 RMB (Universal) Vs. 769 RMB, so it's very much in line with Disney's pricing...
Probably not, as much as I'd love to given that Eejanaika is definite top 5 material for me.
They seem to be very popular in the few parks they're in and continue to draw queues, but I think the cost of installation and maintenance is probably prohibitive for most parks.
I think there's also something about the Spanish temperament which just doesn't really resonate with theme parks. The Spanish don't seem particularly interested in visiting - or operating - them.
I'm not sure Spain is even particularly unique in this. Another poster mentioned Portugal - and...
If you've not ridden the Shanghai version and are judging from POVs alone, I'd reserve judgement on it. I don't think I watched POVs before riding it and absolutely loved it - but have since watched POVs back and agree it doesn't really translate or come across very well on video. It's a blast...
Absolutely. As I inferred, I really didn't feel how I thought I might. I'd try not to second guess it too much if I were you - and as I suggested, maybe pick your days carefully depending on your temperament. Make sure to leave a bit of time to explore Kraków too; it's a beautiful city!
Most Spanish theme parks aren't really nearby Spanish tourist resorts, is the main thing, I think. From my perspective as a British person - who has been to a couple of these parks - most tourists just don't go near these parks. Madrid is an incredible city - but nobody goes there; everyone goes...
I've done this. If I were you, I wouldn't worry too much about how you think you should feel - it's quite likely you won't feel that way anyway. I've been to Auschwitz twice, and whilst it's a fascinating and important place, I've found it hard both times to relate to it. It feels quite cold and...
UK here. I struggled with the below, and none of them probably even come close to my top 20.
1. Swarm
2. Nemesis
3. Air / Galactica
4. Wicker Man
5. Grand National
6. Stealth
7. Oblivion
8. Nemesis: Inferno
9. Apocalypse
10. Icon
I'm very much in this camp also. Portions of it do feel like nothing much is going on and it's just veering around from place to place. Meandering is actually a great word for it. The launches are disappointing too - they don't need to be the most intense launches ever, but they barely register...
