My issue is that there’s just so much lost potential with Intimidator (and other “bad” hypers). If you’re getting this massive coaster don’t trim it to death.
I'm right here you know..
Although Mako is technically probably better (I haven't ridden it), Apollo's use of terrain is amazing, especially the last dip in the dark. And for the first hyper, its more impressive than Mako to me.
Double post... but this video is very interesting and fits the thread perfectly...
Of course, some of these are pretty well known. But some, especially that non-larson loop thing, I've never heard of.
There's a coaster somewhere whose train could not make it around its two loops, so instead of rebuilding the loops the park added supports on the underside of the old loops, then merged the track. I can't find it, but I feel like it had something to do with Texas.
To me it looks on par with Mako (I’ve heard the most praise for Mako recently out of Hypers)- or better. B&M should be and are building better and better rides to keep up with other innovative manufacturers, since Hershey or another park could have easily picked a different manufacturer- Intamin...
This certainly looks on par with, say, White Whale... possibly comparable to Lightning Rod minus the terrain; it’s got those funky twisty airtime hills, multiple wave turns, and the triple down. In that respect it does look like a longer LR.
