A good example of this would be at Tayto park, Ireland. They recently had their 2021 coaster project refused by the local council as a handful of locals were concerned about the noise, despite the extra jobs and money it would make.
Thanks for the clarification, it sounds like Thorpe lost out on what could have been their best ride. Stealth's got a fantastic launch, just a shame the rides over so quickly.
One of The Undead Creatures comments did say that Stealth and Rita were ment to be the same ride. I have no idea what was originally ment to be, just find it interesting to think about what could have happened with the area.
Sorry if this thead already exists but I can't find another one anywhere! This may be a long post...
We visited Thorpe briefly this afternoon as we we're in the area. Due the the crowds the only ride we go on was Rumba, but we did have an interesting chat with an engineer about a few things...
Was wondering if anyone had any information on the closure of both Stealth and Top Thrill Dragster. Both have been down for a while, presumably due to maintenance issues. Bit of a coincidence that two Intamin launch coasters would close at the same time for multiple weeks...
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure I heard the coaster was brought at auction for around £3,000,000. Painting, shipping, installation and theming will cost money, but surely not another £17,000,000...
According to a few sites Colossus at Thorpe Park Cost around £13,500,000. Seeing as Flamingo Lands version has been in storage for a while I'd agree with A, 10-14 million.
The Vekoma SLCs I've ridden have had awful restraints. it may be a height thing, but I always come off with pain in my shoulders/triceps. The roughness of these rides don't help either though.
If you're down that way it's worth the extra day for Paultons, its a decent family park with 5 credits. There's some pretty big changes coming to the park next year with Tornado Springs.
Massive fan of monorails here, so for me it would be the monorail at Alton Towers or Walt Disney World. I love how the WDW one passes through the Contemporary Resort.
Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed reply. Its interesting seeing the different techniques manufactures use to relay the same information. I'll be sure to look out for the ones on Nemesis Inferno next time I ride!
Evening everyone!
When certain B&M coasters move in or out of the station there's a distinct clicking noise. It looks like there's 4 plates the coaster passes over as it moves along. I'm guessing its some kind of sensor, just curious which one. Thanks!
The noise can be heard from 2:18 in this...
