I really love the commitment they're giving to the story and marketing of this upgrade. It's really making what could be seen as a bit of a boring 're-track' something really interesting to follow - not just for us theme park fans either, I'm sure the public would be just as intrigued.
Some...
If the track is far away (as the video is very close up) it may well be a cool effect, so I shall wait until I see it up and in person before I renounce it.
However, I am worried that it will look naff in years to come when it gets worn away. I'm sure they've thought long and hard about it...
Some rather interesting developments at Chessington WOA - as the engineering team are taking industrial action.
They will impact these dates;
Friday April 28 to Monday May 1
Friday May 5 to Monday May 8
Friday May 12 to Monday May 15*
Friday May 26 to Monday May 29*
* opening of World of...
It looks cool and I like the theme and story behind it, but the name is so terrible. Someone clearly typed into ChatGPT dark roller coaster names... and Voila.
I personally feel that the wetness could have been addressed during the closure period. Nobody appreciates getting soaked to the bone and the three times I've been on it, it was like being baptised.
I've been on it a couple of times but I refuse to do it now. A poncho can help a little bit, but...
Are there any ideas of what's going into the Wildwasserbahn 2 station?
It would be a good fit for a flat ride, but I highly doubt it is due to the fact this is a Merlin park and Heide Park is literally a flat ride graveyard.
A construction update from Hossoland - looks like they're starting to make good progress.
If it was anywhere else in Europe I would doubt the 2024 opening - but Poland are renown for getting things done!
It looks a really smart investment - bringing together some cheap (yet popular) flat rides into a nice cohesive themed area that I'm sure visitors will enjoy.
The problem is the shiny new track (which looks gorgeous) is going to make all the unpainted bits look even worse.
It's like having a facelift but only doing botox on the upper lips - it's just going to highlight the other issues.
I'm sure it's a multi-year replacement plan etc, but it will...
I think potentially they under-estimated the complexity of the rides, and it's gone way over budget. They'll 100% of made losses on the Mission Ferarri, all adding to the problems of the cash-flow.
It's a shame, as they're trying lots of different things, but there is only so much parks are...
This looks gloriously smooth. Perfect fit for the park, and I could see something of this size working really well at Drayton Manor or Paultons Park in the UK. Big enough to pull a crowd and look dramatic - but not so scary no one would go on it.
The park is on to a winner with this one in my...
There's an interesting article on Yahoo and Screamscape regarding Dynamic Technologies, the company behind the two major rides at Genting Skywords that haven't yet opened.
It's quite a long article, but in a nutshell;
Dynamic has spent $26.4 million on the Aliens vs Predator attraction at...
Surely they've had everything out of the Vekoma catalogue by now ;)
I imagine at the start of building Energylandia, Vekoma walked in with an Argos-sized catalogue and they went through circling everything they wanted with a red pen.
There may have been a glimmer of hope a few years back when PY Gerbau got on board, as he was known for turning sinking ships around... however he jumped, so I would be willing to put my life savings (all £3.90 of it) that this project will NEVER see the light of day.
I hope those rare spiders...
