Only just managed to get some time to myself today.
I had a great weekend and makes me really sad that I won't be going to another one till next year. I have discovered a love of Taybarns and really need find the closest one.
Thanks to Ian for liftage.
Big John and Tanya for the lift from...
I watched Spirited Away in English due to the fact we were doing media and film and the extras included a storyboard version of the beginning. I bought the film and loved it. While I tend to watch it in English as I find that I get distracted by the subtitles, the Japanese language version is...
I was up in Blackpool today and they had workmen on it all day. Looked like they were checking the track or something similar. It did look weird with it closed. They have placed up the metal crowd barriers across the steps down to it.
We used to play them in Year 3. A whole class lesson every week and my school was open plan so even when you stopped playing it in the older years you got to hear the Year 3s playing. I had a purple clear one and I played it in assembly. I gave up in Year 4 and started playing the French horn...
First pass I bought with Tesco clubcard but this year we didn't have enough points for it this time. I just paid the £100 renewal price and my Dad didn't get his. I did a week of overtime at work and decided a pass was what I was going to spend it on.
With the whole Opening Day thing I know my Dad got a free re-entry but he only got that because he wasn't renewing his pass and he actually went and spoke to the people sorting out Annual Pass holders. I only renewed mine. (And it looks like we aren't even going to use it now).
The idea is...
I used to go to Blackpool once a year and had been to Alton Towers once when I had been little. It all changed when I went on a ride with an inversion (Corkscrew, Flamingoland) and then went to Alton Towers again. I think it was from there that it all started.
Sorry it has taken a while to get to the next bit.
Day 3
Yet again it was all overcast and we made our second attempt at going to the State House.
It was open this time so we got on a little guided tour of the place. Really cool place if you like loads of marble and it looking a...
The kiddie coaster at Brean. Filling a whole train with adults with the youngest being Ciaran. Oh and the abuse from a bunch of chavs on the local park.
It's Tebay services. Stopped there when we went up to Scotland. Definitely a nice change from the normal services in the rest of the country.
The farm shop was great.
They may charge like £5 for annual pass holders to reserve themselves a "space" for Fright Nights. They have been doing that in recent years so you can guarantee entry.
I saw it this afternoon at the Printworks in Manchester. Managed to get tickets for the IMAX 3D version.
First a review of the beginning in 3D. It stayed 3D up to the time Harry arrived at the Burrow. The bridge scene was really good in 3D and the swooping around (even if it made me feel a...
Definitely Virgin.
Didn't have any complaints when I flew with them a few weeks ago.
BA was a bit rubbish when I went to Barcelona.
EasyJet was just cheap but I like my comfort.
Flown with First Choice, Monarch, My Travel and Thomsonfly. Not really anything to write home about.
My friend has a suspected case and could have infected all my friends who went to Kos with her.
Hmm well at least I went to America instead and I've been fine.
My friends in Birmingham have had it and recovered.
I've always wanted to visit Boston for some reason and Virgin fly there and it made sense to go and travel down the coast from there to NYC and Washington.
I had a portobello mushroom burger thing but the cheesecake was so nice.
Boston
Day 1:
After a not so bad flight from London to Boston with Virgin and a short taxi ride we ended up at our home for the next four nights. The Cheesecake Factory and California Pizza Kitchen were the better ones to eat at.
This was a photo before we made so much mess with our...
