    Emerald Park News/Discussion

I know this is Ireland however it is common practice for UK parks to close their thrill rides and only open a limited line up. Ireland is next to the UK and has a very similar climate to the UK. Alton Towers are doing Cbeebies Land and Munity Bay only which are family areas. Chessington is...

    Your worst spite

Blackpool Pleasure Beach closing Valhalla and Grand National on the day of my visit on the year Icon opened and reopened the day after. We went back the day before going back home to ride both rides as pay per ride was a thing back then. It was more Valhalla we wanted to ride.

Six Flags / Cedar Fair Merger Announced

That would be an interesting possibility. I'd love to see a Nemesis or Oblivion in the US. Although knowing Merlin as a Brit, it's a chain that focuses very much on overselling fast tracks, oversubscription of disability passes, constant downtime, reliability/maintenance issues, cheap IP based...

    New attractions at Paultons Park

That's exactly what I'm thinking, I think there's a lot of speculation based on a Viking themed gate. The upside down logo is definitely a tease but otherwise, it's just fitting theming. I'm sceptical that we'll get a wooden rollercoaster and if we do, it'd be either a 2nd rollercoaster or one...

Chessington World Of Adventures | Croc Drop | Zamperla Sky (Drop) Tower

Whilst it would be nice if it was Rameses Revenge, I don't think it is. I believe this had been scrapped back in 2020 and left Chessington on the back of a van. It was in a state towards the end of it's operating life so I don't think it was economical to repair. The ride model on this thread...

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Plans to develop the beach at Thorpe Park have been submitted, it's a stage with seating and a selection of food kiosks.

    New attractions at Paultons Park

It's confirmed, the Dragon Roundabout has operated for the last time and is leaving this winter. Paultons Park have posted it on Instagram. I'm wondering whether a Mack Seastorm maybe part of the Viking Area 🤔

Kingda Ka and Green Lantern's removal for new 2026 record-breaking coaster

I literally forgot there's a floorless coaster at Great Adventure already, my oversight 😅 At another park, yes - at Great Adventure, unless they do what Merlin do at some of their parks and install two rides of the same model in different parts of the park, no 🤣

Kingda Ka and Green Lantern's removal for new 2026 record-breaking coaster

It would be a missed event opportunity if Kingda Ka was to close unceremoniously. With the floorless Green Lantern, I'd say it would be a fantastic opportunity and would provide a new experience for the park.

    New attractions at Paultons Park

It's not outside of the realms of possibility for Paultons Park to be getting a dueling coaster. I think it would be incredible

    New attractions at Paultons Park

I don't think the wooden aesthetic necessarily screams woodie to me - it's authentic to the viking theme and the longships they had. A woodie would be fantastic however I wouldn't be disappointed if it came later instead. I'm completely with Graeme on this one and I'd be shocked if the new...

Project Exodus at Thorpe Park; Current Layout (Mack) or Alternative Layout (Likely B&M)?

Having been on Hyperia over 50 times, I have noticed that Hyperia has brought in a lot of people both domestically and internationally. It is a very unique coaster and a B&M Hyper wouldn't have had the same attention with the original plans. I understand Merlin wanted it to stick to the Canada...

    Your 2024 in Review

For me, I started my coaster count at 54 at the beginning of 2024. Now, my coaster count is 79 with an increase of 25 coasters. Park visits this year: Thorpe Park x 23 (1 more visit planned) Chessington x 3 (1 more visit planned) Europa Park x 4 (1 trip) Phantasialand x 2 (1 trip) Blackpool...

    New attractions at Paultons Park

Those closure notices typically indicate a closure date once a ride is announced to close permanently or for a extended closure like with the Scooby Doo Wild Mouse in Warner Bros Movie World in Australia. It's rather unusual for this sort of notice to show for a closure that will last a winter...

    New attractions at Paultons Park

Sounds like RCDB seem to be jumping to conclusions a bit. The park haven't said anything about a permanent closure. It's most likely some sort of retheme.
