It depends on how long ago this was taken - could this be the Tilt Coaster that got cancelled and speculated to be moved to Six Flags Mexico and then Cedar Point as Siren's Curse 🤔
The point with Merlin was that rides closed after the end of the season without warning on multiple occasions including The Flume, Loggers Leap, Ripsaw, Submission and a previous attempt with Blade which is heavily rumoured for this year (I don't believe this one bit and think it's sparked as a...
The thing with Kingda Ka is that it's the world's tallest rollercoaster and one of the fastest coasters in the world. If there was one coaster they could've had a send off for, it was Kingda Ka.
A lot of the coasters that were mentioned are iconic coasters regionally however are not necessarily...
I can completely understand the policy to some degree however for Kingda Ka, going with such a policy isn't such a good idea and could be really damaging for the park.
If there was an announcement at the start of the year or even in September, more people would've come to the park to ride it...
I saw that on RCDB - 8 inversions and the same as Steel Curtain 🙂
It's got most of the inversions of the Intamin 10 Inversion coaster however doesn't have a couple of the barrel rolls at the end.
I wonder how smooth it is compared to Colossus 🤔
It would be good if it was the inversion record as I haven't seen a coaster with more than 8 inversions in North America yet, 9 if we count AlpenFury.
None of the Intamin 10 Inversion models seem to have come stateside as of yet.
This actually lines up with the proposals pretty well - I'd say the Water Coaster could come to either Carowinds or CW whichever doesn't get the Super Flume or that they both get Super Flumes.
At least Carowinds are learning from the time they removed every water ride from the park. It's not...
It surprised me that Six Flags decided to close Kingda Ka without any sort of announcement on the year of closing. No last rides event or anything. It went after a regular last day of season where people expected it to come back.
They could've easily said it was coming back next year after it...
I believe that with housing nearby to that area, it'd be either another play structure, a shop, restaurant or something small. Maybe a dark ride.
I don't think it'll be a new rollercoaster or major attraction.
With the park having issues with operating rides in the lake area due to noise...
It's not entirely implausible that Kingda Ka, Stealth, Formula Rossa and Superman could get LSM conversions this year although I think it's probably a mistake 😅
Edit: It seems like Intamin have thrown in the Hydraulic launched coasters in with LSM ones and put them all down as LSM.
That's what I'm thinking - not necessarily getting Zamperla to frankenstein it like with TT2 but having the launch redone to LSM and new trains.
Hopefully by Intamin though rather than Zamperla 🤞🏻
It seems to be a trend recently and in the coming years that larger family theme parks are adding their first coasters with at least one inversion.
We've had Plopsaland with Anubis and Toverland with Fenix a while ago. There was a time Phantasialand added Black Mamba as their first coaster with...
In my personal opinion, a monopoly in theme parks isn't a good thing as from experience in the UK and Merlin, there's a lot of issues associated with a single theme park operator running the country's major theme parks with no major competitor on a similar scale.
I am baffled why Six Flags...
I believe it is a matter of opinion but as long as you're passionate about theme parks and rollercoasters, you're an enthusiast.
We have enthusiasts of different types and around the world.
We have those who go to theme parks around the world, some who go to the theme parks domestically (in...
