Mmm; I do love the outside of that area generally, it's more the inside to the ride that I was thinking of, which becomes a little 'eighties', but fair point nonetheless. Which is why I suspect that Chessie gets a lot of love, despite not adding the next big thing every three to four years...

^They seem to go through spells of being in vogue, and date horribly quickly, even the more expensively constructed ones, such as Space Mountain. Maybe a general 'off world' theme would be better, rather than a Rockets and Spacemen one, with eighties computer writing everywhere...

Pirates, Dinosaurs, Space, Knights, Cowboys. Too many parks rely on overused themes, and there seems to be very little inspiration or enthusiasm for new themes; Alton half heartedly tried Zombies, BPB tried Vikings, but both are largely self contained and in no real danger of becoming proper...

Yep, it replaced the Christopher Lloyd Haunted lighthouse one. A decent point someone made on TTF though, without having to spend on the Shrek IP, which is likely to have been a large chunk of the outlay, I wonder if we may see an unexpected flat ride, in say the dark forest, or something...

Right, for those of you that haven't been following the threads on Valley Mania, the new ride(s) will not be a rollercoaster, and whatever it proves to be, there are two of them, and they are from Germany and Italy respectively. Any suggestions as to what they may be?

That's pretty much my own opinion on it; there is clearly a market out there, but it is unlikely to come easily, and as others have said, it really depends whether the initial spend would garner the returns it could, or whether the British weather could scupper it too easily, making it risky...

To me, Bling achieves the apparently unachievable and makes BPB even more tacky. Good ride or not, it's image does the park a disservice, and if they've got any sort of reasonable fee for it, then good riddance.
