Day 12 - Europa Park (Part 2)
As you’d expect, today was mostly about rerides on the good stuff while also making an effort get on a lot of the dark rides we had missed. I won’t do a detailed play-by-play, so I’ll cover the “new” stuff, dump all the photos, and provide some updated thoughts on...
Day 11 - Europa Park (Part 1)
For anyone curious, we stayed at a hotel independent of Europa Park, but only a block off Hotel Bell Rock. We were near the opposite corner from the main park entrance. Still walking distance, but about 20 min or so around the perimeter.
There was a minor delay...
I don't think they meant something to the scale of Hagrid's, rather the ride model itself.
SFNE is getting one this year. A motorbike coaster on the hillside on Magic Mountain seems reasonable.
More or less agree with you of it all, except I thought that first loop thing was brilliant. The hangtime there is unlike anything else. I can understand the weird lateral shift... it didn't bother me, but I actually have a big issue with X2's raven turn for the same reason.
The smoothness...
I haven’t forgotten about this. The past month or so has been crazy with work and the holidays, so continuing the reports haven’t been a priority. Things are finally starting to slow down now, and I’ve got a bit of a backlog here, so let’s get back to it.
Day 10 - Erlebnispark Tripsdrill
Today...
I was gonna hold off on sharing this until I finished my Euro trip report, but want to make sure I was in for CF's combined rankings! Few new things... one was easy to figure out, took a while to figure out the other two.
1. Steel Vengeance
2. Skyrush
3. The Ride to Happiness
4. Voyage
5...
Day 9 - Phantasialand & Local German Fair
There were lots of rerides to look forward to on our second day at Phantasialand, so I’ll keep my thoughts brief while highlighting any differences and new rides we skipped that day before.
Most of the rides don’t open until 10:00, but the park opens...
Glad I snagged the cred this year. I still think the woodie could be really good if they just... like... took care of it. It's a good layout with some decent airtime and laterals.
That said, I'm not gonna say no to an RMC.
Day 8 - Phantasialand (Part 1)
It’s time.
We picked up our rental car near Cologne Central Station and made the short drive down to Phantasialand. We certainly didn’t need the car today since there’s a train/shuttle option, but it wasn’t much more expensive to grab it a day or two early, and...
Day 7 - Cologne
Wrapping up our time in Belgium, it was time to move onto Germany.
Traveling to Cologne from Leuven was way quicker than expected. I thought it’d be a few hours or so, but it ended up taking under two, even with a 15 min transfer in Liege.
Of course, Cologne drops you off...
Day 6 - Walibi Belgium
From Leuven, Walibi Belgium is a very easy 25 minute train ride, and then a short walk over the road. We arrived in time for rope drop.
With it being a Saturday (and the park closed on Sunday for some reason), the day started out very busy and concerning...
Day 5 - Bobbejaanland & Leuven
Compared to pretty much all the other parks we had planned, Bobbejaanland seemed rather…unattractive. It would’ve been the first park to get cut from the itinerary, however, eight creds sounds pretty nice doesn’t it?
The transit option required the most travel...
Already slacking on this, although the last couple weeks have been pretty busy. Still plenty more to come!
Day 4 - Antwerp
Our next base of operations was Leuven, but “on the way” we spent the afternoon in Antwerp. Again, easy train ride (loved how simple and accessible the whole system was...
Boulder Dash
Few rides we had first thing in the morning honestly sucked. Running slow, lacked airtime, rough as tits in every valley (titan track was sexy though). Immediately gave me a headache and eventually had to tap out.
Came back later for my first ever night ride on the thing… holy...
