I recall that when Coaster Studios first made a European coaster tour, he visited about twenty parks, including Europa, Phantasialand, Efteling, and Alton Towers. Afterward, he ranked the parks he visited and put PortAventura as number one. Now I’m all for understanding these matters are...
PORTAVENTURA — Day One
I’m at this park for nearly three days, so I wasn’t going to make a report after each night, but I can’t resist a quick summary of Day One.
I managed to get all the coaster creds in the main park, got a few other rides, had some nice meals (one Mexican, one American in...
I don’t remember exactly the times, but I don’t think it was that long. They were high-speed trains iirc. That said, there was a half-hour walk between the rural station and the park. No way could I have found it without my phone.
I’m glad someone’s enjoying them. 😊
Wild Train is at Fantasiana, not at Prater. I took a day trip by train from Vienna, but I put both parks in the same post.
GARDALAND
A couple of days have slipped by and I haven’t managed to report this park. and now it’s late in the evening and I have an early morning at a new park, so I’m going to have to jot something down quickly here.
I visited with a local who knows this park well … and was able to point out...
Your number one seems a particularly bold choice on this forum, where so many CFers seem so bothered by the second lift hill. Twisted Colossus isn’t my favorite RMC, but it ranks up highly among them for me.
I was going to drop the 50s, but 750 feels like it’s 3/4 of the way to 1000, so …
750 — Raptor — At least this Gardaland coaster has some history as the first B&M wing coaster.
MOVIELAND PARK
Is it worth a visit to Italy’s Movieland Park?
If you’re a credit fiend and you’re visiting Gardaland, you might as well squeeze in some time to pick up the three credits (if they’re all open) at this park. In fact, Movieland is so close to Gardaland, you can actually see the...
MIRABILANDIA
After a few coasterless days exploring Venice and one coasterless day exploring Ravenna, I hit my next park at Mirabilandia, taking a very inexpensive and easy bus from and then back to Ravenna.
This is a nice enough park on the whole, but for coaster enthusiasts it is ALL...
Ah, so easy! All you apparently need is multi-day persistence, the initiative to ask employees, research, an inside industry contact, patience, and some luck. I should’ve thought of that! 😂
Anyway, next time don’t break it.
In your experience, how often would you say that Desmo Race at Mirabilandia is open? I have an Italian coaster enthusiast friend who says it’s closed 99% of the time. Would you agree with that? Does it even open at all? Have some of you ridden it? Recently?
Just curious as I’m here at the park...
And Soarin’ Eagle is, imo, by FAR the best Volare out there, so imagine what the others are like! 😂
I enjoyed hearing your reactions. For me, the Cyclone is easily the king of the park, but I like Thunderbolt and understand your ratings.
I recently tried the one at Prater. I went in with rock-bottom expectations — the design looks absolutely pointless — and the nice thing about having zero expectations is being easily impressed. Yes, it was lame, but at least it had a little modicum of thrill, which is much more than I expected.
This topic seems worthy of its own thread, or to be revived as a thread.
These park numbers made me go look at my park numbers, and that made me realise how incredible these numbers really are in comparison. I can’t imagine what your coaster count must be.
STRAŽA BLED, at Lake Bled, Slovenia
A minor theme on this trip has been picking up random creds I hadn’t expected to get.
Today I had the special treat of being shown a bit of Slovenia from a local expert, and lifelong resident, and a certain CoasterForcer, and I am indebted to him for his...
