I definitely meant Euromir, with the music, countdown, and spiral lift hill, but I never rode Eurosat before the Moulin Rouge facelift.
And thank you for the park name answer! Is that mascot just original to the park? Meaning, did Niglo predate the park’s creation in any way?
NIGLOLAND
(Hate when it rotates some of my photos.)
I didn’t have much in the way of expectations for this park, so I had no idea how charmed I was about to be. The park has wonderful theming everywhere, and the park is woodsy and shaded throughout, making it feel for me like a mix...
JARDIN D’ACCLIMATATION and FÊTE FORAINE DES TUILERIES
About a half-hour stroll from
one can find this
and the likes of this
Jardin d’Acclimatation is a park for children with four coaster credits. Often coasters in small children’s parks are in janky condition, but these are all...
I think enthusiasts immediately compare the roughness of a coaster with all the other coasters they’ve ridden and can gauge it immediately, whereas the GP, I suspect, often just think a rough coaster is what roller coasters are supposed to be like, and coasters are supposed to be fun, so ‘I...
PARC ASTÉRIX
This is a charming park with a lot of care in its theming. I didn’t grow up with the Astérix comic book world, but I enjoyed the park’s tongue-in-cheek, stylized versions of various lands of Antiquity.
The two headline coasters were better than expected. For the second time on...
You are definitely not the first person I’ve heard to say La Feria was the worst run park, so I certainly believe you. That said, I went for two days just a couple of months before the accident, and I had no problems — except that Cascabel never opened and the line for the Cantinflas attraction...
When I was on Tibidabo Express, I was thinking that I bet this is pretty scary for a lot of little kids.
And that scare actor singled out me, too — but after the initial jump scare was pretty friendly, hoping I was having a good day. 😆
I sought out Hotel Krueger when I saw it on the map, but it was not open and I couldn’t see any information as to if/when it would open. So I’m afraid that’s one I missed. Is it a walk-through?
I’ve certainly heard that many times, too. Maybe if I had been visiting only one day I would have felt forced to get a fast pass from the start and would have had a better impression of the park.
Still, I don’t think any park that forces the guest to get a fast pass in order not to be screwed...
I did go during weekdays (during which the park was so slammed that one-train ops should have been unthinkable), but I’ve heard people complain about the one-train ops and slow dispatches for many years before I witnessed it myself with disbelief. And no park that deliberately chooses ten plus...
TIBIDABO
Goes without saying that Barcelona is amazing, but today I took a bus and a funicular to the top of the hill overlooking the city where Tibidabo is. I expected two kiddie coasters and a spectacular view. I got that view in spades, but the park itself, though small, was better than...
That’s awful. It reminds me a bit of Nickelodeon Universe in New Jersey, but they had four-hour slots. What a disincentive to visit. Yarmouth and Joyland were two old-school parks I was looking forward to taking my time with.
I’m sure this has been discussed before, but I don’t recall seeing it in my years on this forum. A conversation in my current trip report got me curious to ask CFers in general:
What are the worst-run parks you have encountered?
For me:
1. PortAventura — corrupt
2. Six Flags over Georgia —...
In observing the two parks over two days, it seems clear to me that the long lines are deliberately created. If the park were operated reasonably, no lines would be longer than 20 minutes (possible exception for Furius Baco), even though it’s a popular park. Far more popular parks in Europe have...
FERRARI LAND and Day Two of PORTAVENTURA
It’s 8:30 pm, so the day isn’t over, but I’m taking a quick moment to sum up Day Two. This report will be similar to yesterday’s positive and negative distillation. Let’s start with the positive:
Red Force is awesome. I liked it much more than I...
Glad to hear it!
Tomorrow evening I head to Barcelona where I’ll be doing non-coastery sightseeing for about five days (with the exception of Tibidabo). Then it’ll be off to another country! Two months is a very long time for a trip, but for me it’s absolutely flying by. Wish I could slow it...
