Universal's Epic Universe | Orlando USA | Theme Park

Slowing down the launch is (nearly) always an option. But with the highest element directly after it, your options are limited. Keep also in mind that the energy of a train is related in a quadratic function to the speed. Meaning: if the train goes 10mph at the slowest point, mph at the launch...

Europa Park | Voltron | Mack Rides Stryker Coaster | 2024

I booked a trip for the 14th of May, so that is what I call perfect timing!

Universal's Epic Universe | Orlando USA | Theme Park

I did not see any Trimm mounts on the ride, so the amount of speed reduction is limited. Keep also in mind that the ride will speed up within the first year of operation. It doesn’t look to extreme for me, and slightly to slow towards the end of the sections, but the latter one is to be...

    Phantasialand 2025 Additions

The first picture is the queue, the picture is taken from the wooden emergency exit and shows what used to be the wooden fence and the painted concrete wall you used to walk straight towards to when passing over the bridge. Good to see that they finally realised they forgot to theme that area...

    Alton Towers | Nemesis Reborn | B&M Retrack | 2024

As the video starts at the top of the lifthill and ends before entering the station, I highly doubt that this was a recorded with the park's permission.

Universal's Epic Universe | Orlando USA | Theme Park

That looks slo…. Actually surprisingly fast. I am pleasantly surprised.

And so goes half of my bucket list...

    WTF BPB?

You don’t need turnstiles to determine how popular a ride is. They are remnants of the „free to enter“ time, and don’t make any sense with their current policy. If I can only enter the park with a fully paid ticket, I shouldn’t need to keep it close to ride anything. I already paid to enter...

Universal's Epic Universe | Orlando USA | Theme Park

Looks like a unicorn vomited right on it. Seriously, that might be the ugliest train I’ve ever seen.

Europa Park | Voltron | Mack Rides Stryker Coaster | 2024

The winners will have 1 week to respond to their E-Mail, making the earliest possible opening date April, 13th.

Your ranking of best manufacturers and your favorite coaster from each one

I will skip over manufacturers where I just have a few (or none) credits on major coasters. If they don't offer major coasters, they aren't in the list either: B/M: Shambala @ Portaventura GCI: Wodan @ Europa-Park Gerstlauer: Mystic @ Walibi Rhones - Alpes (Shoutout to Junker at Power Land in...

Knott’s Berry Farm | MonteZOOMa: The Forbidden Fortress | Schwarzkopf Launch Refurb | 2025?

If I am correct, it closed in 2022. So 3 years to retrack a 200m long coaster. That would even be slow by Disney standards.

Europa Park | Voltron | Mack Rides Stryker Coaster | 2024

According to „Badische Neueste Nachrichten“, a spokesperson told them that it is not going to open at the beginning of the summer season. So I would call the chances „very slim“. https://bnn.de/mittelbaden/ortenau/rust/start-achterbahn-europa-park-voltron-nevera-verzoegert-sich

Europa Park | Voltron | Mack Rides Stryker Coaster | 2024

Wouldn’t be the first time that happened, BUT I only see limited amount for trimming. Every high element is traversed fairly slow (although not crawling), so they can only reduce the trains momentum by a comparably small amount before it doesn’t make it through. The best point to take speed off...

Europa Park | Voltron | Mack Rides Stryker Coaster | 2024

Doesn’t look sped up to me. It is going fast, though. Aaand it’s no longer crawling over the top hat either, so my excitement rises once again. I guess we will it speed up a bit more until it’s opened. Not that I am going to complain about this 😉

Dollywood announce Lightning Rod's launch to be replaced with chain lift

It is not unusual for a Lift hill to be run at a slower speed for the first test runs, so there is still a chance that it’s going to be a bit faster.

Fire at Liseberg's Oceana water park

It still feels surreal to see Oceana in that state.

Universal's Epic Universe | Orlando USA | Theme Park

JK Rowling is as well, and Universal gladly obliged. If I recall corectly, Disney was actually planning to purchase the Harry Potter license, but her demands (e.g. that she has the final word in pretty much anything related to the world building in the park) where deemend "unreasonable" by...

Heide-Park to make its ”next major investment” in 2024

To be fair, Geister Rikscha at Phantasialand is kind of scary, just not for the reasons it should be.

    Most insane coaster:

I feel like the question is misleading. Do you mean the most insane, so the craziest coaster, or the scariest? Because a crazy ride does not need to freak out GP upon sight, a scary ride has to by definition. BTW the most insane/craziest one is Tornado at Bakken. And it’s likely not even close.
