I think the main one for me is Tornado @ Bakken. This ride has OTSR (which dig heavily into my shoulders as I am on the taller side), is a spinning coaster and has the roughest transitions (layout-wise) I ever experienced. Those are all things, that usually deter me from really enjoying a...
Apparently, we managed to miss in the chaos surrounding the insane fire at the Oceana construction site that there was also an accident at Port Aventura.
Following a strong gust of wind, a tree toppled on top of their junior wooden coaster "Tomahawk", injuring a total of 14 people, 2 of those...
Holy S#*!
I am literally lost for words.
@FogZog I am also so curious about this. I can imagine that the explosions were called by gas bottles used e.g. for welding.
@Tonkso The Waterpark was scheduled to open this year, but was not yet finished.
I have to agree - Loup Garou is the funny kind of bad. Its one of those rides, I like to do a couple of times per visit just because it is actually quite a bit of fun. The airtime is short but decent, and the fact that it was designed in Minecraft just adds to it.
Its like a "soft" roughness if...
Dude, I will totally go for a ride. As mentioned, I want it to prove me wrong And if it turns out to be the best ride at the park (which it is still likely to be), I will ride the hell out of it for sure. Sorry, but you will have to wait behind me :-)
Because it was going about 2 km/h at the very top.
I have to admit, my hype level was pretty high at some point, but now that I see the ride testing, it is dropping significantly. I saw a video today of its stall. While it would deliver insane hangtime, it also means that the subsequent...
It is .5 km/h past a roll back on the top-hat. A gust of wind and it would‘ve had a rollback.
I remain confident that it will be faster than that when it opens. The part after the MCBR looked decent.
On the other hand, Europa park is not known for its thrill rides. They tend to keep their...
Jokes aside - it truly does.
Let’s hope that that is not the final speed. But with it being one of the first test runs (with a real train), it is realistic that it speeds up until opening.
The lockers appear to be located quite close to the station. How much queue follows afterwards is difficult to say, but it can't be that much.
I think @VonRolland wanted to emphazise the kind of locker system that is going to be used. Europapark specifically said that the lockers will be the...
It all depends on a parks operations. If your ops are good, a moving station will give you plenty of time to dispatch a train and take stress of the operators.
If you’re short staffed, or your procedures just take long, it will hamper the dispatches as the whole station comes to a full stop...
I305. I love coasters that feel way too fast, way too intense and have some intense twists. That is pretty much the whole concept of I305. It will either be my new number 1 by a long shot, or not even make it into the Top 50.
As opening hours are not fully public yet, we couldn't finalize out planning. Therefore, this list is based on the parks we intend to hit on this years Mega Hyper Giga-trip.
#1 contender: Intimidator 305
Top 10 contenders:
Maverick
Steel Vengeance
Fury 325
Lightning Rod
Wildcats Revenge...
Including the horrible rattle 😂
I expect empty trains on a brand new ride to loose quite a bit of speed throughout the layout, but this is really a lot of energy that’s being lost there. It is better than older Chinese knockoffs which lost half their momentum after the first element, but...
Might just be a different mix to accomodate for lower temperatures. I have a wheel used for testing the coasters prior to opening, and that looks the same.
I also don't know if Voltron uses larger diameter wheels.
Please note that this will not be the rides final speed. The park stated in the comments that the ride is running (a bit) faster than it will during normal operations. If it were my descision, I would keep the speed as it is :)
