What was your first coaster with an inversion?

Orient Express @ WOF...Live Aid weekend, even. I haven't been able to turn my head since.

    Top 10 Theme/Amusement Parks

If I lived right next to a great park, I could see how Antino's preferences would change. Whenever we go, it's a major ordeal. So I made this list of where would I want to go back to (already been) if the park(s) above the next slot available were shut down. The moose out front should've told...

This thread is enormously helpful for those of us trying to figure out what the "must-rides" are once we get there.

Coasters & parks that mean a lot to you

My Dad talked me into Matterhorn and Gold Rusher (SFMM) - and they stand out as my first rides on a Roller Coaster. I've been chasing bigger, faster, steeper ever since.

    Roughest/Worst coaster you've ridden?

I'd have to say Manhattan Express, Twister II, The Legend, Desperado, Mean Streak, Mantirou, Green Lantern, and Vortex are the roughest ones I've rode. But, Desperado was my first Hyper...So it has a special place near the bottom.

    Phones

I had an S7 until about a month ago. I use Google maps a lot, and I got tired of it hanging when it was trying to load. I got the s10 5g bells and whistles phone. The battery and the camera are worth the extra money for me. Plus it loads super quick. Did I mention the battery?

    Rollercoasters which are too intense?

I was just gonna say Goliath at SFMM is the only ride that made me grey out. Kalistos beat me to it. And I go out of my way and set money aside when people say, "it literally tries to kill you every second"...

    Fear of rides

As for noise and anticipation...my first was the Matterhorn at Disneyland, and at the time it was a very big deal. When you're that young and small, everything is gigantic. My Dad said, "you're gonna love it, you're only afraid because you haven't tried it yet...you have nothing to compare it...

    Do you get fast passes?

Feels like the Arctic Circle. North Dakota. Me and my 2 boys it was 2 large easy. We don't do it like Rock Stars, either. GAm is the the closest real park...but when we do our thing we stormtroop 5 or 6 parks dawn till close - and we're good for another 8 months or so. And yes, Insurance means...

    Do you get fast passes?

I believe in them. Especially for those rare weekend visits. I usually wait until the day of to gauge weather and crowd, though. I look at it if its already costing me 2k or so to be there, another 500 for insurance to get my fill seems oddly justified. It costs me more because we live light...

What impressed you the most in the past year?

Cedar Point's commitment to opening SV with 2 trains at Coastermania. We got there about a week early, went to KI and the Dayton Air Museum after getting our ride on. We got back a few days early, and they worked on it around the clock for what seemed like 3 days straight. We stayed at...

    Rank the B&M Wing Coasters

Ummm...I really like Eagle's position on top of the hill, and it doesn't invert on the first drop. And, thunderbird is like, 1 minute 18 seconds or something like that. Probably counting the time sitting in the brakes. Thought I wrote it out fairly clear. Ridiculously too short.

    Rank the B&M Wing Coasters

I've only gotten to the ones in the States...So for me it would be: 1. Gatekeeper 2. Wild Eagle 3. X-Flight 4. Thunderbird I really like Wild Eagle's "position" on top of the hill, and that it doesn't go for an inversion right away. X-Flight's a fine diversion from laps on Goliath & RB. It's...

Cringe Worthy Non Coaster Enthusiast Comments you have heard

So I was talking to an old high school flame the other night...I told her I'm a big fan of riding these things, and she asks me, "which one is your favorite park?" "Cedar Point", I replied. "Never heard of it, is it in the US?" "It's near Cleveland...I gotta go. Nice talking with ya!"

How many different number 1s have you had?

Millie when it opened El Toro about a year after it opened Fury about 2 months ago...it's friggin' great when its hot out Steel Vengeance. I305 ( did it make it to #1?) about 3 years ago A bunch of others in the running - US anyways. Haven't made it to Europe yet...Can't wait!

    Coasters that surprised you

Renegade comes to mind immediately. Our first trip to Valleyfair and didn't even know it was there. I noticed a lift hill in the distance and we ventured that way. We had just finished up a lengthy coaster trip - it was by far the best woodie on that trip.

    Kennywood | Steel Curtain | S&S Multi-looper

Maybe...one of the bigger problems other than aesthetics, is that its still Arrow track. It could be made by the best of the best, within millimeters of specs given, and Quality Controlled by NASA...but it LOOKS like Arrow track. Anyone else have a mental block when climbing aboard the old...
