Six Flags is busy building cheap "coasters" at all their parks.
Cedar Fair is busy attempting to singlehandedly clog up RMC's pipeline.
Parques Reunidos doesn't do huge ride deals.
Merlin? Maybe. It fits their "OMG GIMMICXZ" style.
Universal is busy stifling polercoasters and shoving Harry...
I don't get the shuttle coaster thing. They've got three, each of which is a fundamentally different experience (launch into loop, reverse chain pull, water ride with volley launch). They also had that weird chairlift coaster thing in '07 (how was that, anyway? Looked like a glorified sky...
Wouldn't RMC redirect the lawsuit onto Irving Ondrey? They made the unreliable stators, after all.
It's a bit like the Texas Giant fiasco. RMC passed blame (rightfully) to their train subcontractor (Gerstlauer).
I think we might see the IOE stators replaced with InTraSys ones (which everyone...
Assuming the crown of the lift is in a similar place, it looks to me like the maximum height will be about 50% more than the current structure.
I estimate it as 230-240 feet tall (closer to 230 IMO) which means that we are looking at a top speed of ~81 MPH.
That makes sense, considering the...
If someone could get a good side profile shot of that drop, we can estimate the height and speed from that.
My money's on 218 feet, 80 MPH, 4 inversions, ~5500 feet long, 90 degree main drop.
Tallest, fastest, longest, steepest RMC.
And most inversions too.
One can only imagine what the...
My predictions for stats:
218 feet tall
87-degree drop
80 MPH
~5600 ft long
4 inversions
3 6-car trains (didn't Mean Streak run 7-car PTCs? We might see 7-car RMC trains)
STANDARD BULL**** CEDAR POINT RECORDS:
1) Tallest hybrid
2) Fastest hybrid
3) Longest hybrid (The Ultimate doesn't count...
If the RMC single-rail is at Knott's, it's going to be a T-Rex, not a Raptor.
My predictions: RMC T-Rex at Knott's, and an Intamin blitz at CW.
The small parks, of course, will be getting two new additions each: Jack and Squat.
Personally, I wear one of my travel vests (I prefer SCOTTeVest, because of the plethora of zippered pockets). Wallet, phone, powerbank, car keys, sunglasses, camera. Easy as pie.
I dunno about Tobu Zoo. I would think, with the (lack of) crowds they get, $100 would be a worthy price for marathoning a Mega-Lite.
I'll second USH for worst value. Even the food there is abysmal.
Mt. Olympus also is bad value. Sure, it's $10 to get in, but they charge like $50 for parking...
This thing keeps getting crazier. We have a hypercoaster-height drop at angles approaching Oblivion's, a minuscule bunny hill that will likely be a sharp punch of ejector, a massive unbanked CCI-like hill, the reverse-banked monstrosity, then a double-up into a roll into a dive under the lift...
The little lateral jolt in Boulder Dash's return run. The first half is all insane speed, laterals, and some airtime. You crest the turnaround, power down the mountainside into lateral city, then hit the bunny hops. One big jolt of borderline ejector! Two big jolts of borderline ejector...
