New coaster concepts that you think would be cool

I think it was previously mentioned that Gianvanilla were planning on creating this concept, but no parks wanted in on it due to the costs of essentially paying for 2 lots of rollercoaster track for 1 attraction. First time I rode Winjas, after the bit that tips you on the side, I thought 'how...

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

I think some of this argument is slightly flawed; The pit nemesis is built into is totally bespoke. Nemesis is also a truly iconic coaster. It makes total sense to retrack nemesis - and is probably significantly cheaper than going through the process of re-surveying the site and coming up with...

The World of David Walliams is coming to Alton Towers

John Wardley has openly stated many projects begin in the pipeline 5-6 years before they have a ribbon drop - even then, as with any creative industry, ideas are constantly backlogged and recycled. There is a strong chance that many of the future Merlin attractions already exist in some far...

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

Josh, you'd know... Am I right in thinking at some point over the last decade Thorpe got some kind of planning grant for structures to around 300-350 ft? I'm sure I remember seeing it on TPM at some point but thinking at the time nothing would come of it. If that's already been granted once...

GF2021: Bigger, Longer & Uncut - Trip Reports

looked like a very wholesome day! Gutted to have missed it all but I really was not in the right state to be themeparking. Will really make an effort to come along to one soon!

CWOA | Mandrill Mayhem (World of Jumanji) | B&M Wing Coaster | 2023

I'm not sure it's possible for a single train shuttle coaster to be a capacity monster, let alone one at Chessington.. It's noticeable this year that staffing across the park ops are truly dire, a few years back you'd see 4 attendants working on platform on vampire with a 10+ team, was there...

The ride system at Europa works by the trains being manually driven with remotes to safe evac points. Each train has its own remote, including built in e-stop, and can essentially be driven like a massive hornby train. There are more evac points than capacity of trains on the ride. It's also a...

Thorpe Park Fright Nights 20th Anniversary

Went with some mates last weekend. The shows weren't for me but the atmosphere and the performers were great. Loved the walk throughs and the scare zones. First time I'd done Fright Nights in 4 years and found the mazes a little disappointing. Scarce actors throughout, trailers felt cheap and...

Agree with the comments above. A real shame that the clear intentions of the aviary are wasted with blocky catwalks - even if they were fine mesh treads it would at least save some of the effect. What looks better? These: Or this: I think the intention here was clear. A similar effect...

    "Now Showing"

saw The Suicide Squad in the BFI with a couple mates. As has been said, it was quite a fun movie, definitely one of DCs lighter ones in terms of how dark and dingy the universe can be, but also I did feel like it was a bit disjointed. Lots of fun tho. Jungle Cruise - kinda similar tbh, it was...

Parc Astérix | Toutatis | Intamin Launch Coaster | 2023

I am so mad that parc asterix are doing a neolithic themed coaster. Was such a gaping gap in the theme park world to do a theme on druids and pagans and standing stones, was gonna be my break out RCT3 > real life concept and i feel liked ive been ROBBED (its gonna be so cool im so mad)

    Spike/switch-track coasters

^ maybe a happy side effect but on some rides it helps increase the ride length, and reduce the total throughput in an hour, which takes the pressure off attendants and operators as they'll have a bigger window to dispatch a train without stacking.

As the predicted queue line ever been wrong and it's taken longer than the expected time ?

Interesting to hear how in your experience these tools are used vastly differently/have a different viewpoint on positions. At fasttrack positions where you join the main & fast track queue together, throughout busy days those slips of paper are given to this staff member as they tend to be the...
