^^Well, there is Hangtime at Knott's. I'd consider that a dive coaster. So now there's technically 2 in SoCal. Which is yet another reason for SFMM to not get one.
I am a bit unclear where in the park this'll be located, though.
^The article says it's floorless, so...
If this is true, it would seem to put the nail in the coffin of SFMM ever getting a dive machine. Not that I really wanted one there anyway, but many seemed to think it was coming.
The park began as a completely independently owned and run park simply called "Magic Mountain" for nearly a decade before Six Flags ever bought it.
With the exception of Great Escape, I've been to every SF park in the states (so no Mexico or La Ronde yet, either). It's pretty subjective...
Don't know if I'd have much luck here, but I've always been interested in this "inverted Tobbgan" ride from the Long Beach Pike in California. There's very little information on it out there. RCDB pretty much only says it operated from 1902-1915. Anyone know any more, or have other pics of it?
So you won't be in line for it then, right? Why waste your time on something that doesn't bring anything unique to a park. Better to boycott. :)
We did all think that TC would be in 2 train operations in a few months, but here we are 3 years later, and it's been running 3 trains for the vast...
I think this'll be different, because this time, the dueling doesn't depend on the ride ops or the guests to get the dueling. It's built into the design to sit and wait there until the other train is ready to launch.
Now, will you possibly be waiting there for eons? Probably, that's where the...
When FT first was announced, the enthusiast crowd was majorly disappointed. But as time wore on, it's turned out it's a HUGE hit with the GP. It's the only launched coaster at SFMM, and the GP have responded to it.
So building a second, similar one in the back of the park is actually a...
I was thinking about the loading taking forever as well (it is SFMM), but do consider this... the train only holds 12, so there's much less to check than there is on TC and Tatsu. So in theory, it should go faster. In theory.
But I will say that if it's the same comfort collars as Sea World...
I don't know if that's really true in SoCal. There was a big rumor a year or two ago that SFMM was going to get a B&M Dive Machine, but backed off when they heard Knott's was going forward with Hangtime.
Just for the record, this Evolution is not the same as the Evolution that travels across most carnivals (at least, in the US/West Coast... it may be different in Europe). Ours is manufactured by Fabbri, and the cars are titled back hydraulically. This means they can be tilted back to the...
I was told that if Goliath at SFNE was open (formerly Deja Vu at SFMM, the giant Vekoma Boomerang), run to it, because it's never open. When I finally got to visit SFNE this summer, I basically figured I'd miss that credit. While it opened a bit late, to my surprise, not only was it open most...
Mine is the Bobsled coaster at Santa's Village in Lake Arrowhead, California. It was a kiddie coaster, and I probably rode it in the late 70's or so. Got 10 points for that one, the park closed in 1998. (It's reopen now-sort of--but it's more of an "adventure park" than the campy Santa's...
In fairness, I've found that more often than not Screamscape will outright say, "this is rumored" on many of their updates, but I then think most people promptly ignore that part and just go right to "Screamscape said..."
I've actually submitted info to Screamscape, and there's no screening...
It also just be me, but I hate it when rides have seats facing both forwards and backwards, but then only move in one direction. Many Wipeout flat rides do this (I know not all, but many). You're only getting half the ride experience. :emoji_confounded:
I've been having similar thoughts about the Sky Warp going in at SF Discovery Kingdom. I generally don't count Larson Loops and their ilk as credits, but this one? Not as sure, as well as the possible upcoming Sky Horizon coming to Sea World San Diego.
Really, I'm not sure how you can talk about theme park flops without mentioning SuperStar Limo at DCA.
A close second for me would be the doomed Submarine Quest at Sea World San Diego.
Both those are listed, with video, as well as a few others, at this article...
Perhaps technically, yes. And the official, historical definition is as Antinos stated a few posts above.
But colloquially, often trolley park can mean "small, independent amusement park". Independent defined as not owned by a large parent company such as Cedar Fair, Six Flags, Merlin, etc.
On a side note, they just announced VR on Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom will be ending July 29.
(Didn't know where else to put this info... is there a general SFMM thread? I didn't see one on a quick search.)
