    Efteling | Baron 1898 | B&M Dive Coaster

Re: Efteling to get B&M Dive Coaster for 2015! I'm sure they could whack one of these in there in a fairly hidden way. I agree that something massive hanging over the park would probably ruin its atmosphere a bit too. I remember Efteling from when I went in 2006, and I loved the place. The...

    Top 10(ish): 2025 Edition - page 129

Re: Top 10(ish): 2014 Edition I reassessed stuff recently and re-did my Top 10. After not really going to many theme parks for a while, it was a good time to re-think everything on a level playing field. So... 1. Expedition GeForce - Holiday Park 2. Balder - Liseberg 3. Colossos - Heide Park...

    Trip Plans For 2014

I've no real plans for this year at present, i've not even been to a theme park since last October! There is a possibility I could get to Gold Reef City in Johannesburg in October though, which is pretty cool.

    Best and Worst Airports

Most airports are much the same to me really, but I do have a bit of an irrational dislike of Liverpool. I just find it even more soulless than most airports for some reason. I'd much rather make the effort to go down to Stansted. I remember Gothenburg City when it was in its tin-shed days...

Re: Barclay's Premier League Or, you know, we'll just sign Lukaku permanently or something. Yeah, go Everton. It'll be a bit of a rollercoaster, but with our finances, everything is a success really!

Seems someone has taken over my mantle in here! Anyway, I couldn't pop back without posting in here. New Jamie T track, and its top. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tmoaFAT108 Video's strangely captivating too.

Two songs that I can't get enough of at the moment. Firstly, Foals - Inhaler. First track off their new album, and its a massive track. Mega guitar sound on it too, much bigger sound than before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJ_PMvjmC6M Secondly, is the new Everything Everything track...

    Your first Drop Tower experience

My first drop tower experience was Apocalypse at Drayton Manor, about two days after my first CFLive, with Tom, and I was bricking it! I was still at the stage of not wanting to open my eyes on Nemesis, and I was going on this tower-thing. I've never been brilliant with heights, and especially...

What Is The Smoothest and Roughest Coaster You've Been On?

Re: What Is The Smoothest and Roughest Coaster You've Been O Smoothest steel - I think that probably goes to either GeForce or Silver Star (circa 2005). Roughest steel - Any Boomerang, hateful things. Smoothest wood - Balder. Roughest wood - Coaster Express - Warner Madrid.

    Loudest chain lifts?

I'm with Phil. The first thought that jumps to mind when noisy lifthills are mentioned is the Vekoma Corkscrew lift motor, a la Alton's Corkscrew. I'll always remember the moaning noise coming from that.

    Best Eurofighter?

I can't really comment on the 'best', as i've not ridden many, but of the ones I have ridden, its a pretty close call. They're all much of a muchness. They've got a steep drop, they go upside down, they're all about the same speed... I seem to be in a small group who actually quite like...

    Milestones in Your Counts

I actually have no idea what coasters fell at what milestone these days. I'm only sat at 180, so I guess the only milestones I have are 1 and 100 though! I know No.1 was Space Mountain at DLP, but I actually can't recall what my 100th was, I guess it didn't really seem a big deal. I have some...

    Top Spin Variance

I can't think of a Top Spin outside the UK that i've seen water on! Its only Ripsaw and Rameses that i've ever got wet on I think, and not on Ripsaw for a good age. Mind you, I tend to sit them out a lot of the time, hateful things...

    Star Flyers

They seem to me to be one of very few things that would still scare me, I just don't like the idea of being that high and that exposed. I can do one or the other, but both together looks like a step too far. Having said that, i've never ridden one, and I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to do...

Mitch Hawker Wood Coaster Poll 2012 - Results

Things you hate when people say to you.

Once I'd actually worked out the question being asked, which was today's biggest challenge... ... The one that gets on my tits is the popular-with-my-work colleagues "I'm not being funny, but...". Okay so you are then, brill...
