Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

Did they ever manage to fix the lift hill motor noise?

In the main queue it's genuinely so loud that it puts me off queuing for the ride again - I'm sure it can't be working as planned or meeting all the guidelines, it was painfully loud when we went.
Hopefully this will be fixed (or at least improved) during the off-season, or that's just how it is and everyone's going to bring earplugs or noise cancelling headphones. 😁

Don’t want to get people’s hopes up, but that is the second time Thorpe have posted a video of a backwards POV….. you think they’re hinting at something??

If they are going down the "brave it backwards" route I'll be really interested to see how they handle the queue line logistics. There's practically no spare space and the current setup seems fairly permanent.

In some ways it might be easier to just run both trains backwards for a couple of years.

The Hyperia water feature scenario is pretty rubbish.

-It's a Creative vs Operations debacle. Creative / MMM seemingly put in a water feature, with little consultation with the park on whether it will be sustainably manageable with their budget / restraints
-Of course, why something as relatively simple as a set of water fountains isn't sustainably manageable (it's the same with Swarm) is something which needs asking
-The jets haven't worked since...June/July? Why are the park still making a decision of its future?

I fully understand how we've got here, but it doesn't make it particularly excusable.

The splashdown is easily the weakest aspect of Hyperia and not just because of the trims. Once the viewing point idea was dropped, it became unnecessary. Then when it opened it has spent more time off than on. At this point they should just make a tunnel or something so they're not just stuck with straight track.

I honestly don't think the splashdown makes any sense with the way they've executed it... an effect like that is designed to be viewable and have spectators getting close to it, yet they hid it behind 7ft fences.

With that in mind, I almost think they'd be better off removing it. It's a real damp squib hidden behind those fences.

Why?

Anyone that is daft enough to pay £120 to climb Hyperia should be welcomed with open arms by the park I would think!
Maybe to prove they've got the legs for it?

I could go up and down on a coaster all day long without any hint of an issue. However, as much as I like to think I could do it, I'd be a hazard walking it, my knees would go weak and I'd probably faint or collapse. I'm properly terrified of heights in any situation other than on a coaster / ride... Even in a car or train, weird I know.

Or maybe it's just to ensure they sell more walks for the other rides too. 🤣

I suspect this is probably the main reason. I am similarly OK with coasters but figuratively s*** myself on tall ladders, so I can imagine there being a fair amount of people who think they could do it but wouldn't hack it if actually starting to go up there.
