roller coasters in the world. Whether or not they are operational is out of the question, but I wanted to know...

1. Which of these is your favourite?

2. Which of these do you want to ride the most?

My vote goes for Top Thrill 2 because sense of speed is by far my favourite sensation on any roller coaster. I would love to get on that one day.

So I've ridden 3.5 of those (done TTSD, but not TT2 yet). and in it's original form TTD is the clear winner for me. In it's new form, it's believable to me that Formula Rossa could be better. Leap the Dips is neat and all, but it's a bit crap. And I'm completely indifferent about Smiler.

I literally could not care less about Shellraiser, so the somewhat obvious Steel Dragon 2000 takes it for me.

I’ve only done Smiler of that list, and I actually don’t massively rate it.

Of the list, I think the one I’d most like to ride is probably Formula Rossa. With the demise of both Kingda Ka and the original Top Thrill Dragster, as well as Do-Dodonpa, I would love to ride a coaster with that sheer powerful acceleration alongside the raw speed of one of the fastest coasters in the world, as they seem like an increasingly dying breed. Yes, I’ve ridden Rita and Stealth, and Stealth in particular is absolutely fantastic (I also perhaps like Rita more than most), but I don’t think the speed is quite the same on those as on Rossa, TTD or Ka.

Top Thrill 2 also looks great, but Red Force, while very good, left me thinking that I definitely prefer a hydraulic launch to an LSM launch on this style of ride, which dampens my expectations for TT2 a tad. With that being said, the swing launch could enhance things compared to Red Force!

Steel Dragon 2000 also looks pretty good; with all those big airtime hills, it does look like the sort of thing I’d really enjoy!

As someone who often doesn’t hugely rate Euro-Fighters, I’m somewhat indifferent about Shellraiser.

Leap the Dips would be cool to ride as a history piece, but I can’t say it gets me excited as a ride experience like some of the others.
