I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it, but I basically do not ride any more SLC's (exception: if it's been recently refurbished, especially with the vest restraints). I'd rather have my health than the credit.
Stratosphere has a Space Shot (going up), but Buffalo Bill's had a Turbo Drop (going down).
If Coasterpedia is accurate, Stratosphere was in 1996, and Buffalo Bill's was 1997. So pretty close. Detonator at Worlds of Fun was also pretty early on in 1996 as well, but they claim Wisconsin Dells...
The crazy thing, looking back, is that it really wasn't all that hard to get a ride for the first few years it opened. It ran pretty consistently for a number of years, and that's when I got most of my rides in. It was a great ride initially, very Magnum-esque, but with that sweeping turn that...
I've heard two... one, the older one (but also from a reliable source) said it was the tire launch.
But now another, equally reliable source that he's heard from multiple people it has something to do with the restraints.
And apparently, so far, they do plan on keeping Primm Valley open... which is really a choice.
If you check out how it looked when I visited in December (go two posts back in this thread), it was the most depressing. But it's also the smallest one (in terms of casino floor space), so from...
I've heard so, but I cannot confirm. But if they are tire driven launches, I'd suspect so. Would love to know if anyone can confirm one way or another for sure.
Makes sense, I don't think there's some crazy conspiracy... the only part that's strange to me is that no one seems to know for sure.
Usually at least someone in the coaster community has some insight, especially when it affects multiple rides simultaneously. The fact that no one seems to...
Does this really look like a quick weld would safely reattach the pieces?

I've been wondering about this as well. I was at Sea World San Diego about 5 days ago, and Arctic Rescue was fully behind walls, implying it's not going to open anytime soon. And according to the website, DarKoaster is also closed. Hagrid does not seem to be affected, but Universal probably...
Any reports on the reliability of the ride? I haven't much about downtime, which seems promising. I'll be going in later July, so I'm hoping it'll still be fine
