If it makes you feel better, paint or incomplete theming is definitely not the reason- apparently the entire motor and lift cable drum are missing at the moment, per someone who rode Racer 75 and saw the site.
With that large of a maintenance issue, they clearly knew it wouldn't be ready for...
Obviously haven't done it myself, but I don't see the strength of the launch being much to complain over. It doesn't even look weak. Interesting that they're planning (by your word) to beef that up though.
The spinning, or lack thereof, is pretty hilarious though. These "spin fins" mounted to...
Stryker is capable of launches and longer trains (I think they can go up to 6 rows?), I think that's effectively the main difference (aside from possible hardware changes). Unless Mack discontinued the BigDipper, the fact Helios is a Stryker is indeed confusing. But ultimately doesn't really...
Yeah, this RCDB SBNO status is pretty obviously related to the death. It will likely stay closed until fully investigated... I just really hope it's not a permanent closure. It's far from the same situation, but they removed Dodonpa for less... can't say I'm not worried about it.
The black rectangle building is surely the maintenance bay. It would already be line with the transfer table that moves the train from the alleged station loop to the main circuit, so attached to that is the easiest place to put it.
Interesting station concept if true! I'm not familiar with the...
I saw another photo of the other train, it is the normal forward-facing configuration. Not sure if they've bought 2 or 3 trains, but not all will have a backwards row.
Oh there will be, this is the company working on/doing the demo. There will probably be some immediate drone footage from locals, but CDI should have a FANTASTIC final video eventually.
Glad you mentioned it, I was looking at it yesterday and yeah... that path access is absolutely baffling. It LOOKS like they've converted the service road surrounding YoY into actual guest pathways so you can walk entirely around the ride (and connects to the (food?) building on the lake), but...
^I think the pure vertical drop off the cliff works much better than a world-record-steepness would have.
One record I am surprised Qiddiya as a whole didn't go for was the 'fastest inversion' record. Would have been pretty damn easy to claim that on Falcons Flight (at just about any point...
Died 2020, reborn 2025- Welcome back Mystery Mine's first drop! That's pretty fun looking, real interested to see how this ends up. Love the double down!
^Highly doubt any painting was done between Mexico and here, probably just the pictures making it seem different. If it was, they certainly would (or rather, should) have changed it away from red. Wrong kind of siren, currently. That said, I actually do think the tower is a much darker grey than...
Seeing those footer markings painted in that notation (ex. "F019B", "F004B", etc)... that's the same exact format (F, 3 numbers, letter) that the recent SFMM plans are using for those footers. I couldn't tell you if that's exclusively how Vekoma and Vekoma alone label their footers, so it's not...
It can definitely be used for high forces/stress, but I would guess its main goal here is to reduce the amount of supports. It looks like all the higher elements use this thick spine while the valleys do not.
Fascinating looking ride, I love a good 'mystery' ride going up and not knowing what...
Well this ride is now very vertical! Interesting design to say the least. This larger tower structure will have 2 sets of parallel tracks attached to it. Maybe this is something like Mack's version of Sandy's Blasting Bronco?
^In Intamin's post they say that work on that final piece was done in an 80-meter-high basket, so I'd assume it's pretty close to that, from the start of the drop to the tunnel entrance.
What a ridiculous set of photos.
