As we're now into December, Christmas is fast approaching, towns are festooned in lights, shops are preparing for the busiest season of the year. Along with all the food you'll be stuffing you'll be stuffing yourselves with this festive period, I'm sure you'll be listening to some Christmas songs and even singing some carols! What is your favourite? Many Christmas songs have been covered many times so which is your favourite version.

"Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" is my favourite Christmas carol

"Fairytale of New York" by the Pogues is my favourite Christmas song.

I **** hate Christmas songs! But, if I had to choose one I'd pick Mariah Carey's one. Not because of the song, but for the video. Even though she's getting on abit I'd still smash her back doors in!

Not a fan of Xmas songs but if I had to pick any it would be the following.

Wham last Christmas
All I want for Christmas - Mariah Carey

I actually do like the original Band Aid song.

Favourite carol is definitely Once in Royal Davids City, used to love singing it at school as a kid.

If I had to pick a favourite song....probably Fairtytale of New York.

The John Williams arrangement of Sleigh Ride. So festive and cheerful!

I don't know why, but Christmas carols make me feel sad. Especially 'Silent Night'. So I don't have a favourite Jesus-y one.

My fave Christmas songs are the less over-played ones: Step Into Christmas by Elton John, and Twenty First Century Christmas by Cliff Richard. The latter is Sir Cliff desperately trying to make himself relevant in 2006 by singing about "texting prayers to Jesus" and "gathering to watch a Holy dvd"

UK Christmas #1 in 1979 ; Another Brick in the Wall ; it doesn't get any more festive than that.

Really enjoyed the contributions by Gavin and Hyde :D that version of Sleigh Ride is amazing. And I love Roy Chubby Brown. That song is so true...perhaps slightly emphasised but you get the picture.

I've never got my head round Kate Bush, which makes even less sense being a massive Bowie fan, she's literally a female reincarnation. It just made me want to watch Nightmare

Slade for the win.

I've heard this everywhere this year. I'd only heard it occasionally in the past, it seems as if this song has really taken off this year which is great because it is an excellent song.

Jona Lewie - Stop the Cavalry.

Classic. Did you know it wasn't originally intended to be a Christmas song? Just because he had the line 'Wish I was at home for Christmas', he was asked to put sleigh bells in the song, which he begrudgingly did and it is now one of the all time classic Christmas songs.
